I have to be honest, when I booked this hotel I didn't do much research, and then went on this website and saw so many bad reviews. I became very nervous to stay here. However, upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised.
1) The outside is a lot older than the picture, however it is not falling apart as others have mentioned. The inside was exactly as the pictures say.
2) The room was big by European standards. There was heat in the room and in the bathroom, and everything was working. It was simple, but had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable.
3) The staff was very helpful, and kind.
4) The location is great. It is not exactly in the center, however it is located right off Avenue Louise which is full of shops. Some are expensive so window shopping was fun. At night, there isn't much in the area, however the metro is VERY close and easy to use. We also took a bus directly into the center that was located a block away.
5) Breakfast was normal. Lots of options, your typical European breakfast.

Overall, we were very happy. For the price, the hotel was exactly what we needed. I wouldn't characterize it as 4 stars, however we liked it.

Surprise when we arrive and they told us that some rooms of the hotel are closed and we have to move to another hotel. Another hotel was very far and as we were by car they asked us to go by my car after refuse and small discussion they asked for a taxi. Arrived to the another hotel, 3 star, and i asked for wifi and the recepcionist told me that is 15 Euro. I try to explain that we have a booking in a 4 star hotel and cause of them we were in a 3 star and at least they can give me wifi as compensation. Off course not. So only i can talk about service. I only saw hotel reception but was not looking the best anyway.

It was the worst 4 star hotel ever seen.
The building is ready to fall, not clean and the personnel never smiles !!!

I stayed in this hotel one night and woke up bitten. I even saw a bedbug crawling in the bed. I didn't complain at checking out since I was in a hurry for a meeting and the situation didn't appear so serious at that moment... I just thought to myself: this one, never again. In the next couple of days hundreds of marks and bubbles appeared all over my body. Itching like hell!
I went to the hospital, got intravenous treatment (antihistaminics, cortisona and others) and brought a list of strong antihistaminics and cortisona pills to take for a week!

I wrote to the hotel, reporting the event and complaining. They even didn't answer. The lack of responsibility and respect for the guest is as serious as the situation reported.
THIS HOTEL NEVER AGAIN!
Of course with this terrible bedbug experience, I didn't pay to much attention to the fact that TV didn't work, the electric plug in the WC for shaving didn't work as well and the breakfast was too poor for a 4 start hotel.
