“Tiny rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

The entrance and lobby are a good size, wish I could say the same thing about the rooms. They are the tiniest one can find anywhere else in the world. When I complained to the staff, they said that the rooms in Brussels are tiny, so one had to grin and bear it! Location is good, a short walk to the metro station. One has to bear in mind that the hotel caters to guests visiting Brussels for conferences, hence it is a business oriented hotel, not interested in catering to visitors to Brussels. Book elsewhere if you are a traveller. Breakfast was good, ample choice.

“I wont be staying here again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My employer used this hotel for a while but had to give up after many complaints from our staff. I only used it once for two nights , but I also had to complain to my employer as my experience was far from what it should have been. When I checked into this hotel I was told they had no reservation for me despite my furnishing a copy of it. After the clerk had discussed this with the duty manager I was given a room but was told, when I asked, that the price did not include breakfast. I was specifically told that this was a room rate only .The room was small , the wallpaper was lifting from the wall and the hallways had a very musty smell, the fitness room was poorly equipped and the restaurant prohibitively costly. when I checked out I received an invoice stating that breakfast had been included in the price (25 euro per day if I recall correctly) but , having been told it was a room rate only, I had breakfast elsewhere. Because this error was on my invoice and although I had to pay for extra meals my employed reduced my expenses by €50. on top of that I was charged twice on my credit card and I had to ring visa and then the hotel several times at my expense and pay the interest on the double charge for three months . It was eventually refunded but not for the call charges or the interest . I might eventually return to Martins hotel, but ,believe me, that will only if its the only hotel left standing in Brussels when I visit.

“Nice lobby, average rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

I've stayed in Martin's once before, and was really pleasantly surprised. Because of my high expectations, I was a bit disappointed this time.
The rooms come in different categories, this one was "charming". That means small. I had booked a room with a king-size bed. But the first room I got had a 120 cm wide bed, hardly "king-size". And the room was quite scruffy for the price. I changed rooms and got a much nicer room with a decent bed. But still small.
The breakfast is ok, but hardly worth the price unless it is included in the price of the room.
The lobby area is really nice, but the standard of the rooms doesn't always live up to that.

“Very nice hotel in perfect location to EU Commission”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

I stayed at Martin's Central Park Hotel for one night. Had meetings in a building of the EU Commission, which was in walking distance.
The lobby has been renovated recently and is very nice. Rooms are quite small, but bathroom adequate and bathtub had even Whirlpool function.
The bed was wonderfully comfortable and air condition worked well.

There are several small restaurants and bars in the area to have dinner. Hotel offered business dinner, but this was quite pricey.

I had buffet brekfast in the hotel which was also expensive but woth the money.
I stayed in several Hotels in Brussels so far, but this was by far the best, given that its not a 5 star and price is really OK for the central location in Brussels - I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room to the courtyard aince front side is quite noisy when opening the window

“Decent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This hotel is practically located. Close to a metro stop to the centre and the EU commission. The neighborhood seems to live of the vicinity of the EU leaving it more or less abandoned in the weekend. But the town centre is only 5 minutes with metro away.
The rooms are small but clean and the service is good. Breakfast is good although the breakfastroom is really hot.
Bonus are the whirlpoolbaths in the room, which are really fun.
