My husband and I booked this hotel on Booking.com. It was an amazing deal for two nights. We encountered a bit of an issue as the road in front of the hotel was blocked for construction, but found a parking structure nearby. I think we may have paid more for parking 2 overnights then we did at the hotel. I would do more research on parking before booking in Brussels again. That being said, the location of this hotel is perfect. Steps away from amazing food, beer, the gorgeous Grand-Palace square, and the cathedral. We walked the entire weekend through streets and alleys. We visited several very popular bars and beer shops. We had the most amazing time strolling around, and yet, did not see everything we wanted. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful city. Food was available at all prices, from very inexpensive patisseries, sandwich shops, and waffles, to the tourist seafood attraction restaurants.
The hotel lobby is quite lovely with a tv, a computer with internet, and a small bar/lounge area. We used the computer to map our route to dinner and to find some information on local sights. The staff was very friendly, and all spoke English, though they tolerated my extraordinarily poor French for a brief time. The lobby also houses a luggage storage area we made use of when we checked out on a Sunday morning to hold our luggage until we left in the early evening.
Our room was bare bones, no frills, and offered neither a view, or much more space then the bed took up. The bed was not overly comfortable, and the hotel would not have accommodated our large dog had we been travelling with him. However, the room was clean, and efficient, with a small en-suite bath and a hair dryer which I very much appreciated. The room was also very quiet which was lovely.
The morning breakfast that is included in the room rate was on the top floors in a room with 3 walls of glass. The room is oriented to face the Grand-Palace, just a block away, and offered breathtaking views. The breakfast was typical, with pastries, rolls, meats, and cheeses. It also offered scrambled eggs and bacon along with an assortment of drinks.
I would happily stay in this hotel again for a bargain price in order to be in the central of Brussels.
