“HAPPY TO BE BACK!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

me and my husband stayed in the Arlequin hotel in december 2010 and have revisited the hotel the first week of January 2012. What a pleasure to find Fabrice at reception again... he must be the most friendly and patient receptionist in Brussels! the hotel itself has a great location just off grand'place and we absolutely love the breakfast room on the seventh floor which gives you spectacular views over Brussels. all in all a good stay once again. we can't wait to go back next year and hope Fabrice will be still there!

“Perfect location!”

Hotel Floris Arlequin Grand Place, Rue de la Fourche 17-19, Brussels, Belgium. Hotel in the heart of Brussels! The perfect location! Only a minute or two from the Grand Place and a few minutes from the metro station! The hotel is a bit older but clean. Breakfast is modest but the views over the rooftops of Brussels from the restaurant gives us a significant impact on the impression. Very Good for its price. I recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

“Great location for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Hotel is in a great location for the "Grand Place", less than five minutes walk away. Make sure you print off a map before you go as the hotel is easy to miss, as there are lots of small streets in the area.
Check in was quick and easy and the lobby is quite modern and spacious.
Unfortunately our rooms on the third floor were far from modern and have not seen a decorator for many years. We booked three rooms (rooms 327-329 I think) all three were very dated and had problems like missing doors from wardrobes and wall plugs in poor repair. I had read previous reviews so was not that surprised by the rooms.
On the plus side the rooms were large, clean and BBC on the TV.

The breakfast room was on the seventh floor which gave you good views of Brussels to enjoy while eating a decent breakfast. The breakfast was standard continental style with some hot options of bacon and scrambled egg.

Overall the hotel is good value for the location but you may want to book elsewhere if you would like better quality rooms.

Room Tip: Higher than the third floor

“Amazing location, bare bones rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

My husband and I booked this hotel on Booking.com. It was an amazing deal for two nights. We encountered a bit of an issue as the road in front of the hotel was blocked for construction, but found a parking structure nearby. I think we may have paid more for parking 2 overnights then we did at the hotel. I would do more research on parking before booking in Brussels again. That being said, the location of this hotel is perfect. Steps away from amazing food, beer, the gorgeous Grand-Palace square, and the cathedral. We walked the entire weekend through streets and alleys. We visited several very popular bars and beer shops. We had the most amazing time strolling around, and yet, did not see everything we wanted. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful city. Food was available at all prices, from very inexpensive patisseries, sandwich shops, and waffles, to the tourist seafood attraction restaurants.

The hotel lobby is quite lovely with a tv, a computer with internet, and a small bar/lounge area. We used the computer to map our route to dinner and to find some information on local sights. The staff was very friendly, and all spoke English, though they tolerated my extraordinarily poor French for a brief time. The lobby also houses a luggage storage area we made use of when we checked out on a Sunday morning to hold our luggage until we left in the early evening.

Our room was bare bones, no frills, and offered neither a view, or much more space then the bed took up. The bed was not overly comfortable, and the hotel would not have accommodated our large dog had we been travelling with him. However, the room was clean, and efficient, with a small en-suite bath and a hair dryer which I very much appreciated. The room was also very quiet which was lovely.

The morning breakfast that is included in the room rate was on the top floors in a room with 3 walls of glass. The room is oriented to face the Grand-Palace, just a block away, and offered breathtaking views. The breakfast was typical, with pastries, rolls, meats, and cheeses. It also offered scrambled eggs and bacon along with an assortment of drinks.

I would happily stay in this hotel again for a bargain price in order to be in the central of Brussels.

“Brilliant Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We stayed here for one night when we went to Brussels for the Christmas market, and wanted a central hotel so we didnt waste any time during our short stay.
The hotel itself is so close to the grand palace you can see it from the breakfast room! but it is included in the pedestrain only area surrounding it so you cant get a direct taxi, although it was only a 2 minute walk from the taxi rank.
We had a triple room on the 6th floor, plenty big enough for 3 people, the room was clean, but a little tired, but nothing overly serious, just wear and tear. and we couldnt turn the heating down in the bath room so it was stupidly hot, but we appriciated it after walking round Brussels in the rain.
On expedia it says that check in time ends at 3pm, this caused us some panic but when we arrived at the hotel at 5.30pm there was no problem checking in, although the man behind reception wasnt really to sure what to do, or helpful with the directions to the market, the man at the reception in the morning was much more helpful and polite.
The hotel provides towels and complimentary toiletries
