“Mixed Thoughts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Stayed in the apts for about a month. Fairly comfortable, clean and quiet with nice kitchen. Mattress very soft and if you have a "bad back" syndrome, good luck!

Reception and concierge all done next door at Marriott Renaissance. This service is "hit or miss". Almost unfailingly, the male staff provide poor service. Most requests are answered by putting you on hold or promising to have someone call back--which usually never happens. My friends say this is "Belgique"-so nothing new. Try to get a female staff member if you really need action or go right to a duty manager.

Left my tablet charging in kitchen upon leaving, called from airplane to concierge to have them secure it. Guess what, despite locked doors, etc., tablet has disappeared. SO, someone on the housekeeping/Marriott staff has a tablet which is locked. Of course, staff denies finding anything. Beware.

One PLUS: chef/food is excellent in the Renaissance restaurant if pricey.

“Spacious but in need of some TLC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

If you're on a trip to Brussels with the family in tow, this Marriott provides you with ample space for the kids and the option of doing some cooking for yourself. Our two bedroom included a king size bed and a queen size bed. Oddly, the room with the queen bed had the TV, while the room with the king had none. A nice feature is the two toilets, although this is counter balanced by the apartment having a small water tank. Note to other americans to not linger in the shower! The living room/dining room is a decent size, although the furniture is of garden variety Marriott, and not particularly comfortable. All in all, this property needs some serious investment. The "main" tv is of the tube variety and fairly small. The included stereo is equipped with a cassette player! Further, the carpet is aging and the seams are visible throughout. The website does a poor job of letting you know that all the administration (check-in, etc.) is carried out by the Renaissance which is directly next store. Considering the age of the property, it is kept clean.

“Couldn't be better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

We stayed 3 night in this hotel and we were very VERY happy to stay there. The room had everything we could expect and we had no complains at all.
We didn't find it a problem that we have to go next door for breakfast and for swimming.
Staff was friendly and helpful.

“Great Option for a bit more space”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Stayed here for a long weekend in Brussels with our toddler daughter. Was a bit worried reading some of the reviews but the one bed apartment we had was great. Plenty of space, flat screen tv in the bedroom and comfy sofa to sit on in the living room. Water was red hot and the place was very clean. Plenty of items in the kitchen, most were in the dishwasher clean and ready for use. We also used the laundry facilities which were free and very handy.

Check in at the Renaissance was professional and pleasant. When checking out on Sunday lunchtime there was a queue, but the hotel manager went up and down the queue apologising for the delay, and took my bags away for storage while I waited to check out.

Hotel and apartments are a little bit away from the sights but a nice area with with some bars and shops nearby, and close to a park. Good takeaway over the road served great food. The Troon metro is an easy 5 minutes easy walk, and Place Luxemburg train station is also nearby with trains every 30 minutes to link to the main stations.

All in all very happy with the accomodation, and would definately stay here again when looking for a bit more space than usual hotel room.

Room Tip: third floor has close access to laundry facilities.

“Cold Showers Anyone?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

The Apartment was very clean = big plus. However, the shower ran luke warm to COLD very quickly. There were three of us who tried showers at different times-all COLD. The Internet did not work correctly. Something near the phone beeped every 20 minutes (all through the night) and was not corrected. It was a very long walk into Grand Place. Bus 95 was quick/Metro quicker. Bus 38 was not a good choice to take back to hotel as it took a very long time.

Room Tip: Our first stay here. Second floor very quiet.
