I’ve recently been a guest in this hotel for a business trip, which happens to me in Brussels about once every couple of months. After a series of lackluster experiences in other structures in Brussels, the one herel was a particular satisfying.
The structure is above average, not great but nice, with the very great added bonus of a small but very tidy gym with a great sauna structure which is just perfect to get rid of the business day’ stress. The room was indeed little, but confortable, the bathroom huge. The position is immensely convenient and also added to the value of the staying, allowing for brief downtown raids.
However, what really stood out (and was surprised by some negative review in this department) was the personnel. In particular the staff at the reception has been immensely nice and helpful during my stay and even after that, when they were very prompt in acting on a call of mine signaling my loss of a tiny USB receiver which was recovered in my room and promptly sent to me back to Italy (at my expenses, which is just fine, with very good padding).
They have the added bonus of smiling when interacting with the guests… which I found to be a somewhat rare thing in Brussels.
If only one critic could be raised, the bar tend to become pretty noisy, in particular over Friday night and the central hall’s conformation amplifies the noise which indeed becomes a nuisance, at least for a room, as mine was, on a lower floor and with a window facing said hall. I am used to earplugs when I travels, but admittedly that can be annoying. interestingly, some Finn association has sauna meetings here on fridays, which one might want to be careful about as not everyone can cope with their way to use the sauna.
