“Deeply Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I stayed at Le Chatelain for three nights in December, 2011 while having my business trip to Brussels.
Even though the price for the stay was pretty high, I had chosen Le Chatelain because it has a very convenient location. The room was clean and quiet.
Even though I did not use a bar in my room at all, I was charged for using it for 37 Euros.
I kindly asked a General Manager, Victor Camhis, to investigate my case, but I was ignored. Nobody contacted me, and nobody appologized for the mistake and returned the money back.
I can only conclude that the management of the hotel does not take the comments concerning the service seriously, neither does it care about the guests' satisfaction.
I totally agree with one of the past guests that it is a shame for 5 star hotel!

“Perfect stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We stayed three nights in this hotel and it was excellent. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, smiling and helpful and spoke perfect English. We were a little early for check in but this was no problem and we were shown through to the bar whilst they checked if our room was ready and it a short while we went to our room on the 5th floor number 506. The hotel has a really nice ambiance, well decorated and comfortably warm. Our room was large, with a good size bathroom, plenty of wardrobe space and a generous amount of clothes hangers, complimentary slippers and robe. There was an area for making tea/coffee with mini bar, cups, glasses etc. The bed was Queen size, very comfortable and lots of pillows. The room was at the back of the hotel which was fine with us, we don't go to a hotel to look out the window, it was nice and quiet too. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't say what the food is like and it was quite expensive at €25 for breakfast. The hotel is situated away from the city centre in the Financial District and is off of Avenue Louise which is a very up market road with high end shops. It is easy to catch the number 94 tram into the city centre and this costs €2 per trip. We chose to walk and there is plenty to see, in addition to the shops the architecture is lovely, nice statues and it is easy to cross the road but stick to the crossings as you can get into trouble for jaywalking if you don't. Also be aware that they don't always appear to clear up dogs mess on the pavement, it wasn't a serious problem but you do just need to look where you are walking Near the hotel there were several places to eat but far more in the city itself, just around the corner there is a Caffe Fresh which is great for breakfast and Lucas restaurant was great for dinner. There were several small Carrefour mini supermarkets nearby so it was easy to buy anything you needed. On the day before we went home the staff helped us arrange a taxi for our trip back to the airport. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Brussels and I would definitely stay at this hotel again and am happy to recommend it.

Room Tip: A room at the back of the hotel is good and quiet although the road the hotel is situated in is off...

“A great experience and stay !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

I stayed at Le Chatelain from the 4th till the 10th of December for business and had a great time. The accomodation was really great, modern and clean. The hotel staff are were very friendly and accomodating. No complaints at all.
Wi-Fi is available (excellent reception) in the hotel lobby.
The location is good too. Lots of restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes walk. The 'Grand Place' is only 20 minutes walk away.
I'd thoroughly recommend it.

“A magnificent surprise - weekends a speciality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

On a recent visit to Brussels, my wife and I stayed at Le Chatelain on the advice of our niece, a Brussels resident.

What a fantastic hotel.

For the price of a room at most hotels, you get everything in this all suite hotel. A bedroom, full living area and an enormous bathroom, plus tea/coffee making, fridge..,. the lot.

But it's important to remeber that hotels such as Le Chatelain are cheaper at weekends as the Euro public servants return to their home countries at weekends and rates drop dramatically.

Can't recommend Le Chatelain enough.

Room Tip: Get a room facing away from the street. It's not the noise. It's that you get a view back in...
