“Great Room, Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We loved our stay at Le Meridien in Brussels. Our room on the top floor was amazing, with big tilted ceiling windows that you could open up for fresh air and to let in sounds of the street performers at the train station that's right across the square. The staff was attentive. The room was clean and big. The location was great -- convenient to get to just about anything on foot! What more can you ask for?

Room Tip: Loved our room on the top floor -- bright and lovely.

“Just perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My boyfriend and I decided to spend three nights here last November and it was a perfect stay. First, this hotel is very easy to get to, facing the Central Station in Brussels and it is also very conveniently located 2 minutes from the Grande Place and veeeery good gauffres places.

The check-in was quick and we were actually upgrade to a suite on the top floor with the view to the Town Hall. The room was beautifully decorated and very romantic. We had belgian "speculos" biscuits waiting for us in the room and a welcome letter which was a very nice touch just at the beggining of our stay. The suite was big with a very confortable bed and the bathroom was just perfection with a big shower and a bathtub.

The breakfast the first day was the only thing that didn't go quite so perfectly as the rest. Too many people, not enough tables or staff and everything had almost ran out like croissants and fresh fruit. Other than this everything else went well, We went out for the day to do some sightseeing and shopping and then returned to relax in our sitting area in the room. The second day we did breakfast in the room and it was so much better without all the hassle of the restaurant downstairs. They sent us the american buffet and they even took care of not sending us too much of the same thing so we could have more variety. We liked the room service so much that when we returned from an entire day out in Bruges (which was also such a good trip 1 hour away from Brussels taking the train) we orderes room service again and we were delighted with the service. Please try their mousse au chocolat belge. SO GOOD!

If you're planning on spending a romantic trip to Brussels and walk around everywhere eating chocolat and liegois gauffres with perfect service and nice rooms, this is the place to go!

Room Tip: Rooms or suites with a view to the Grand Place are magnificent.

“Good Location”

Le Meridien Brussels is situated in a very good location, just opposite the Central Station. The train station provides a way to other stations to other parts of Belgium, such as Antwerp. It also links you to Midi Station where you can catch a train to other parts of Europe like Paris, France.

As I was there during the Christmas season, there was just a Christmas Market behind the hotel, not far away. Eateries and shops (many of which sells chocolates) are everywhere around the hotel. This hotel is a good choice for a family trip and it also offers tour packages around Belgium and even Holland.

“Great location but needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I've stayed at this hotel twice now. The first time, a few years ago it was great. It's now a bit tired and could do with some updating.

The foyer is impressive, reception staff were friendly and helpful and everything worked as it should so overall it was a nice stay. However, given that it's listed as 4/5 star it lacks the edge of other hotels in this league. The rooms could do with some decorative work and the details you expect in higher-starred hotels just aren't there. Who wants powdered milk with their tea?

If you can get this hotel at a reasonable discount it's still worth a stay - the location is perfect for enjoying the city.
