I have been staying at this hotel on business for a number of years. It has some decent rooms and some very poor ones - it is a bit of a lottery as to which you will get. Not all rooms have air-conditioning so during the summer your stay could be very pleasant or unbearable depending on which room you are allocated to. Also, some rooms are quite spacious whilst others are like a shoebox.
The Italian restaurant next door has now closed so the dining options in the evening in the area are extremely limited. Waterloo has a number of fine restaurants and bars but they are not within walking distance of this hotel. The hotel restaurant menu is very limited but sometimes it is OK to have a Pizza, a glass of wine and watch the Champions League football on a large screen in the bar area !
The rooms do have tea/coffee making facilities but the mini-bar is just an empty fridge ! Also. the windows can be opened.
The choices at breakfast are good, although they only have tiny bread rolls. Some of the local cheeses eg Paschendale on offer are excellent.
One good thing for the business traveller is that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the Waterloo Business Park but it is best to make a reservation the night before.
