When I first arrived, late at night, I was given a room which had a leaking toilet cistern. Getting to the room involved going along narrow back corridors and using what must be the service elevator (only just room in it for me and my suitcase). Avoid room 453!
The next morning I asked to be moved and the people at the front desk were very efficient and polite.
The replacement room didn't have any leaks, but it was very much like the previous room. The carpet, the furniture, the wallpaper all seem old and, sorry to say it, smelly. There is no ventilation in the bedroom (unless you open the window), and certainly no aircon. There is zero heating in the bathroom so the only way you remove the chill there is to keep all the doors open: not ideal.
The smelly problem is exacerbated by the Belgian custom of smoking anywhere and everywhere.
So I would not stay here again, but I could recommend it to smokers (especially smelly ones) as it is pretty good value for money, in a smelly sort of way.
One bonus is you can avoid taking a shower when staying here - nobody will notice.
