“Comfortable and in city center”

My travel agent booked me in this hotel and it was my first ever visit to Brussels. I have not faced any problem in finding it and the reception lady was so cool to welcome. I was in before 2 hrs of check in time but they accommodated me without any issues. Very near to Brussels central and all other sight seeings in Brussels. Comfortable room and lovely ambiance with free internet. I stay again in same hotel in my next visit to Brussels.

“car parking and front of house assistant were disgraceful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

we had booked and paid for a car space at this hotel upon arrival at noon. At 7 pm during dinner, the assistant manager said we were not booked in for a space and wanted me to move the car outside on the main road. We told him to contact the receptionist who had booked us in ( we had 3 witnesses to this) and to please leave us to have our dinner in peace. 10 minutes later he brings back a man, clearly someone who works there, who said we had parked in his space - we asked them to sort it out - it was not our problem. Won't waste any more time on this saga but this hotel has major problems with its ethos. we booked 4 people and we all thought it absolutely disgraceful. The young arrogant assistant manager needs retraining or sacking. All the remaining staff were very nice and helpful and the rooms were fine. What a shame that the senior management do not monitor the front desk and attend to complaints.

Dear Guest, I have been aware about what happened during your stay.

Unfortunately no parking space was booked, as we never book or reserve our parking places. Nevertheless and after getting inside the parking without permission of our staff, you parked in a permanent rented space clearly marked by sings and different floor color.

The man you thought worked in the hotel is precisely the tenant of the rented space, who wanted to park his car, having all the rights to reclaim it. Unfortunately, all requests from our reception staff and the parking space holder, asking kindly to move your car, were contested hostilely by you.

This unfortunate incident clearly shows why we apply the policy of a first arrival, first served basis on our parking in order to avoid any unpleasant situation.

Best regards

“Beyond our Expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We stayed for a week at the Catalonia Forum in the middle of Sept/2011. The size of the room(two double beds together became a queen) & the bathroom was more than what we expected. The service at the reception desk was great. They spoke English,French and Spanish. The buffet breakfast was good(choice of eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses and more)to have before we headed out for touring. Tram#92 is a five minute walk from the hotel and 10 minutes after to the city center (Place Royale). Then a 10 minute walk to La Grande Place. Tram#92 also gets you to the Gare du Midi if you want to take a train to Antwerp,Ghent or Brugge. The hotel can set you up with excursions which are not too pricey, but the free time is limited. That's why the next day, after an excursion, we took the train to Brugge so we could really enjoy it at our own leisure. If you're back from an excursion and in the mood for a good meal, try Cafe Taverne"Le Pretext" at 225 Rue de la Victoire . It's about ten minutes away from the hotel. Good dishes, especially the lamb with mashed potatoes &veggies which also comes with a great salad beforehand. The prices are very reasonable. Also if you're at the Grande Place and looking for a bite, try Rue de Bouchers. Their prices are half what you would pay at the Grand Place. Just ask for the street when you're at the Grand Place and someone will point it out to you.We were very pleased we chose this hotel. We would most definitely stay there again. Ted S. “Efficient and friendly”

Me and my wife spent one week in September 2011 at the Catalonia Forum in Brussels. We found the hotel to live up to our expectations in every way; the staff was friendly and the room kept clean, and the breakfast buffet was tasty and varied. And last but not least, the Internet connection was both fast and reliable. Public transport to various parts of the city from Catalonia Forum was also very convenient and easy and good restaurants and cafés were also to be found nearby.

“Affordable straightforward hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

I stayed in this hotel between 14 and 18 October 2010. It was a short trip, and I was very tired from a lot of travel.

The hotel was a good place to rest, watch TV in the spare time and look out the window at the city below. The room was very clean, with a good bathroom, and otherwise very simple. There were two beds one next to the other, which did not quite stick together. This meant that sometimes I would find a gap between them at night. The bed sheets too were not very generous, nor fluffy. There was a well-stocked mini-bar, and the staff was ok, although not extremely helpful. Being lazy and sleepy, I did not get to see their breakfast.

I would say that, with a good price offer, this hotel, especially for its location, could be a good deal.
