“Great location, nice admostphere but eveythng chargeable!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

As i was saying, the location is so close to Brussles Square and city which make it so convienient to to walk around. Room was very nice and cosy and very comfortable.

However Iwas disapointed when ordered room service, being an Asian, asked for 'Fried Rice Ala Balinese' which was in the menu but was shocked to be served with Fried Rice with pasta sauce. My point is if there are no expert with certain type of cuisine don't offer it.

The world is open network, access to internet is available free every where, espeaciallyin hotels, however I was charged 20 euro for wifi and I asked for adapter, was charged 16 euro as well.

Breakfast wasn't that great.

Dear NagendranM,

I would like to thank you for having taking the time to leave a comment on your last stay at the hotel.

I read your remarks with great attention and I was pleased to hear that, overall, you enjoyed your stay at the Royal Windsor Hotel Grand' Place – Brussels. Despite our Chef is training his team on the various specialities the room service is offering, it seems that the menu didn’t meet your expectations and we are sorry for this.

Regarding your comment about the internet, I’m pleased to announce that now a free Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the hotel. With this free connection you can now check your emails and surf the web with your smartphones or tablets very easily and for free!
Hoping to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our hotel for your next stay in Brussels,

Yours sincerely,

Louis Vanheusden

“great location shame about the service”

great location to visit the sights, business premier room was nice and clean. hotel itself is overrated at 5* more 3-4*. Service is 1* from Daniel at check in.

Booked the Royal Windsor for my partner for his birthday, because i forgot to mention that he was allergic to feather duvets and I did apologise when I arrived, Daniel without informing us checked us into a standard room. Which after we went to our room I came down and confronted him and he said thats what we booked for. After I stated that I had the invoice he confessed 'Oh so you did- but as you forgot to mention the allergy the best room is standard'. I then demanded he put us back into the room we paid for and just change the duvet and pillows to synthetic- not exactly difficult! Previous reviewers were right - they do make it seem like they are doing you a favour or are going out of their way. He also with an attitude asked 'Did you even request a cot for the child' from which I asked him to refer to the invoice.

would not recommend here for a nice stay for service, but def if you are wanting to see the sights.

“Beware the noise, boys!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Royal Windsor is inexpensive and conveniently located minutes from the Grand Place and some of the best beer bars in the world. Unfortunately, it's also located across the street from a very noisy disco that operates from late night to mid-morning.
This raises two questions. First: how sturdy is your need to sleep after midnight? Can you plug ears, can you not care if you sleep or not, do you have your ambien or your headphones? Second: Disco? Are you serious? Who are these people?

Anyway, if you reserve here, be sure to ask for a room that doesn't face the street. If they don't have one, ask for Ambien or a table for an all-night card game.

Room Tip: if you want quiet, ask for it.

“Great location for seeing Brussels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The Royal Windsor's best feature is it's location, slap bang in the centre of Brussels, just minutes from the Grand Place and a short walk to 'museum hill'. Much of Brussels tourist attractions are just a short walk away.
The hotel itself would I guess be 3-4 star. We visited in January, a cold month in Belgium. Our room was lovely, warm, very masculine and with a very comfy bed. All dark woods, small but very cosy, especially in winter. While the street is noisy at night the double glazed windows were phenomenal, cutting out all the noise.
Staff were efficient but brusque who in a very 'French' way refused to understand my 'French' accent'.
There are two bars, one at the front and one at the back, the former never opened when we were there. The back bar, 'Chutneys' is ok and looks out on to the cobbled 'old town' streets but could do with a fireplace and a warmer atmosphere.
All in all I would recommend the Royal Windsor for a short sightseeing trip.

“A grand hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is one of older hotels in Brussels but it has charm. The standard rooms rooms are adequately decorated and equipped. It is amazingly central if you want to be situated near the Grand Place and it is surprisingly peaceful for such a central location, although try to not to face the street. There are no views from any of the rooms anyway. The public areas are styled in a plush but classic style. It's not the cheapest hotel in Brussels and breakfast is expensive as always seems to be the case with good hotels these days.

Room Tip: Rooms near the lift can be noisy.
