I stayed at this hotel for a week-long business seminar and ended up having one of the most sleep deprived stays of my life. On the face of it this hotel should not be so bad; the staff are courteous and polite, and the restaurant is of a very good standard. Free wi-fi internet access is provided, and the quiet and small bar does provide a good selection of Belgian beers (amongst other things), although at hotel prices! The rooms themselves are very small and basic, with no tea/coffee facilities, no drinking water or minibar, very small bathrooms and no ironing board etc. The room is, however, well kept and clean, and the main issues I found during my stay related to the building itself.
The hotel is located on a commuter route as it is in a mainly residential area. Down both sides of the hotel run busy main roads, with a large bus stop and tram stop located immediately outside the hotel. Whilst this is quite convenient for travelling into the city centre (15 minutes on the tram at €1.70) the noise can be unbearable early in the morning until late at night. This was not helped by the fact that my room, at the front of the hotel, had an access door to the balcony terrace that would not close fully. Additionally, the rooms walls are paper thin and conversations can easily be heard through them. This also meant that normal volume discussions impacted on my sleep.
If you are, like me, booked into this hotel I strongly recommend taking ear plugs. With this extra measure, this hotel would have provided a much more satisfying stay.
