We stayed here on a Rick Steve's recommendation, being more interested in value rather than atmosphere since Brussels is rather expensive. Because we were here in August, when the EC is not in session, the rooms were half-price, which made them extremely affordable. They were definitely business rooms, which means clean, modern, and fairly large. We had a good-sized TV, which was nice if you speak French (we do!) and need to see the weather or whatever. The location was fantastic, a short walk to the center of sightseeing and the train station.
We did not eat the continental breakfast, since we figured we could do better than 14 euros. The only complaints I had about the room were the lack of toiletries in the bathroom (there was a multi-purpose shower gel/ hand soap/shampoo dispenser that wasn't good for anything other than hand washing and was hard to use because it wasn't in the shower) and the fact that the mattress was quite possibly the hardest mattress I've ever slept on, so hard in fact that my knees and hips hurt more after sleeping on this thing than after a full day of sightseeing. But having been to other places in Belgium, it seems that these are both standards for hotels, as they all seem to have hard mattresses and few toiletries either. If you are used to visiting other places in Europe, this may come as a surprise, so come prepared. Guys probably won't care too much about the toiletries issue, but I couldn't deal with it.
Overall, a great value- make the most of your stay by finding breakfast elsewhere and bringing your own shampoo and soap!
