To be fair I'll start with the best parts:
-The Citadines hotel has a great location and for that reason alone I might even consider staying there again.
-My room was nicely located with a corner window on the 3rd floor, with a lovely view over the square. This, however, was the only good thing about my room (and ment it was quite noisy)
-Also, the staff was friendly, particularly the lovely people at the breakfast buffet.
-The hotel was undergoing renovation while I stayed there so, assuming that they renovate the whole thing, it will be (or maybe is already) much better.
No for the bad parts:
-The immediate disappointment when I first entered my room. It was soggy, there were stains on the walls and the carpets, there were bugs on the walls, it was stuffy (30°C outside and no air-con).
-The bed wasn't a bed, it was a sleeping couch. Sure, the sheets were clean, but the blanket on top was not very nice, and it was noisy.
-It was really stuffy, with almost 30°C outside and no air-condition inside.
-Room service was not too great. I killed a bug on the first night, and thus left a blood-stain on the wall which wasn't cleaned the entire week I was there. The bed wasn't always made either.
-The door-frame was loose so I had trouble locking the door. You could very easily push it open.
When I was there, in September 2011, the suites on the top floors were being renovated. I hope they do the same with every room because if they do, this will be a hotel safe recommending.
