We travelled via Eurostar to Brussels Midi (also known as Brussels Zuid), (you then change train to travel a 5 min journey to Brussels Central). The hotel was in a great location for a great sightseeing trip. Good footwear is needed. The actual hotel was clean and our room had maid service each day. The only fault with the room is that the bathroom door came straight out onto the bed. The breakfast was plenty. Ours was included in the price of our trip (would not pay 21 euros for). Staff in the hotel were pleasant and friendly. There are plenty of places to eat and drink near the hotel and all around Brussels. There is also plenty to see. We had heard that there was a charge for using the toilets but we only found this happening on one occasion when we visited the Atomium. We did the Brussels Bus City Tour which was ideal for hoping on and off to visit places. Most museums are closed on a Monday. The train trip to Bruges was an experience (73 euros for 3 of us return ticket) - we were packed in like sardines and people were fainting which was not much fun especially as it takes an hour to get to Bruges. On the way back from Bruges we had a bad experience with a ticket inspector who was quite rude to us because we had not filed in our tickets and said that we should have read what was on the ticket. Unfortunatly none of our party could speak fluent French let alone read it!!

i went to the hotel with my mum and sister and couldnt believe how easy it was to find. we got the eurostar, then a train from the station to the station near the grand place, think it was gare central. then literally came out of the hotel, down a short street and there it was!! the hotel itself was clean and quite modern looking. our room was a double bed (possibly a king size) and a sofa bed which was comfortable. the bathroom was clean and the room was spacious enough for the three of us. we didnt have breakfast included in our deal, and it was about 20 euros to purchase, each!! so we didnt bother. there are plenty of cafes etc around th hotel, but fairly pricy cos of the euro and also being so close to the grand place! the staff were helpful, although my mum did get annoyed a few times as she had to keep asking for more milk for the room and they didnt replace the sachets of teas and coffee....but was nothing disastrous in my opinion!!! there was air con free in the room and a tv, but very few english channels, not that we were there to watch tv! i would say this was a perfect hotel for location, wasnt luxurios, but then it wasnt a dump! was just right and i would stay there again should i ever return to brussels!!

Good friendly service from English-speaking reception staff (despite my attempts to use my fluent French!). Very spacious air conditioned room. Although it overlooked a very busy square with, at various times, buskers, a market, hundreds of tourists and locals celebrating Belgium's National Day, it was perfectly quiet enough with the windows shut (which didn't need to be open due to the very efficient air conditioning.) The lifts took a bit of figuring out as you have to put your card in a slot before pressing the floor number: maybe this is common but it foxed me for a while!

Plenty of choice for breakfast, although another guest stole my orange juice straight after I put it down to pick something else up! I got breakfast included when I booked the room. Otherwise I'd steer clear as I think it was over 20 euros. Get a waffle from the shop over the road instead.

The best thing about this hotel is its brilliant location, particularly for seeing the sights. It's on a pleasant little square just a short walk away from the Grand' Place, with hundreds of shops and places to eat and drink nearby. If you like your beer a must is the 'A la mort subite' bar, opposite the end of the Galeries St-Hubert covered shopping arcade.

Nearest Metro stations are Gare Centrale (Central Station, next to the Cathedral) and Bourse. I'd recommend Gare Centrale if you have wheeled luggage as the route from Bourse station is very cobbled!

Fantastic place, great location, it made our 3 nights in Brussels just fantastic.
We were lucky enough to get a really good deal on our room, so not only were the accomodations great, but the price was terrific!!!

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at Novotel Grand Place in the first week of June. It is only after we reached the hotel that we realised what a splendid location it had! Just off Grote Market, facing Gallerie St Hubert, a stone's throw from Central Station. The area hums with shoppers and shop keepers and lends a lively air around the hotel.
Our Superior Room was on the 5th floor and had a lovely view of the road and the top of the Grand Place. At an average of 160 Euros/day, it was good value for money for the holiday season. The room was not the typical cramped ones you see in most places. Housekeeping was excellent and the room got completely tidied up every day. The WC and bathroom were separate - this was very convenient.
The hotel lays out an excellent breakfast buffet. However, if you want to eat light, there are a number of cafes right opposite where you can have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with anything you like. We tried EXKI that offers 'healthy' food - yoghurt, muesli, fruit jumpers.
We were travelling to our next destination by train. It was not difficult pulling our suitcases, somewhat heavy, over the cobbled footpaths to Central Station.
