The title of the review is Hotel Bloom's trademark slogan, and they advertise their difference heavily, especially the rooms. Each room is individual; at least in terms of wall decor, otherwise they are pretty standard hotel bedrooms. However that is not to denigrate the hotel, it is a fun place, the rooms are large, great comfy beds, free wifi (though limited in download unless you have a passcode), fantastic breakfast room by the lobby, with a tremendously varied selection on offer.
"SmoodS" is the hotel bar/restaurant which has a funky decor, resident DJ mixing desk(not always playing for those who prefer a quieter venue) and serves pretty good food; however in my mind it was a little pricey for the portions provided (burger and chips, very tasty but 22Euros!?!?, side orders 4-5 Euros for a v.small dish, not the best vfm)
The hotel sits beside the old Botanical gardens, 5 mins walk from the Metro station (Line 2) and is just a 15 minute walk into the Grand Place, old Brussels. Comfortably situated for accessing all of the city's delights, it does however sit on a busy road, so if you have trouble sleeping due to road noise then ask for a room on the back of the hotel. The cobbled street accentuates all the traffic and tram buzz and even being close to the top floor didn't deaden the noise that much, luckily it doesn't affect my sleep however if you're a light sleeper....
For those here a while longer who want to keep some semblance of fitness after all that Belgium chocolate and waffles there is a "Villo" city bike rack just by the Metro station for cheap effective cycling around the city. The hotel also has a pretty good gym on the 8th floor.
Overall the hotel had some good and not so good points but the former far out way the latter and makes this venue a great place to visit Brussels from.
Final tip is you don't want housekeeping to do anything with your room then hang the "have it my way" door tag on the handle before you go to sleep and in the morning you'll find a 5 Euro voucher for SmoodS slipped under the door. Great for a free beer in the bar before slipping down town.
Room Tip: Back of the hotel for light sleepers.
