I stayed at the Sheraton Brussels for one night on a business related trip in February. The hotel was booked through Hotwire, and I was quite happy when I found out that I was getting the Sheraton, which at many other locations has been a pleasant stay for a budget price (through Hotwire).
As I was arriving late, I e-mailed the hotel in advance to let them know. No reply.
At arrival I asked whether it would be possible to have a late checkout, noop. if I wanted anything later than 12.00, there would be a charge.
The room was on the 11th floor with a ok view, among others of the Hilton on the other side.
The furniture was very old, and the only thing new I could spot was the television. Toilet seat among others, was well worn, not a particularly expensive thing to change.
As I needed a shirt for the next morning, I was looking for an iron and ironing board but could not locate it. Tried calling guest services, no reply. Went down to the lobby to be told that it was in my room in the cupboard. I went back up, still couldn't find it. Called guest services, and finally they sent someone with it. (This person was however very quick, and much appreciated).
I did not find the bed very comfortable and slept quite bad as the heating system in the room was outdated. It was -8 outside this night, and the temperature kept being way too high, even when turning down/off the heat.
I could also hear every single step my nieghbour was taking in his room, as well as different taps being turned on and off in surrounding rooms.
The free internet everyone's bragging about, it's only up to 128 kbps, if you need a higher speed you will have to pay. And no, it's not enough for skype!
The pool is quite nice but oh so cold, and the sauna holds about 30-40c.
Don't get me wrong, for paying €60 on hotwire, it was acceptable. But to think that someone might pay €130 is completely stupid. This hotel needs a proper refurbishment.
Until that has taken place, if you really need to live near Rogier, have a look at the sorrounding hotels like the Hilton, Crowne Plaza or Thon.

And just for clarity, at all Sheratons worldwide there is a (reasonable) late-checkout fee past 12noon, which is waived for our SPG Platinum and Gold guests; SPG is also soon launching "Your 24" benefits for the highest-tier SPG Platinum members.
