“OMG - is this really a Sheraton?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Ooh my god - is this really a Sheraton? That was my first thought after I checked in and settled into my room. The rooms are large, but that's really all......everything is very dated, or let's just call it old....furniture, bed (sweet sleeper???) and bathroom. Even the towels felt as if they've never been replaced since the hotel opened.
This is a typical business hotel in the center of Brussels.......and they don't offer WIFI in the rooms.....really? I sincerly thought it was a joke when the front desk guy advised me.
The Club Lounge is fine and the staff at the front desk were very friendly!
Nevertheless, if I would have known I would have booked a different hotel!

Greetings and thank you for your comments. We are obviously disappointed that you were disappointed. We continue to work with our owning company towards installation of wifi access in the guestrooms (note there is already wired access in the rooms, and complimentary wifi in the lobby as part of The Link@Sheraton), as well as full renovation of the rooms and public spaces in the coming future. In the meantime I am very glad that you found our staff to be "very friendly" :-)
Kind regards,

“This hotel had everything we needed and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We made a last minute weekend booking and had a wonderful time for a very reasonable price. Our room on the 23rd floor was a suite really with fabulous views all over the city, which by night was quite beautiful. We could also see the sunsets which were lovely. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We made several trips to the rooftop swimming pool and sauna and wouldn't have needed to go out at all as there was plenty to keep us amused. Free wifi in the entrance lobby was good, and the location next to the metro ideal. Also just a block up is the lovely garden of the Botanical Gardens, where we wandered in the snow on the sunny Sunday morning. All in all it was very nice indeed, and we'd be happy to return.

Room Tip: We were in room 2301 which may or may not be the best, but we thought it couldn't have been bett...

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I stayed at the Sheraton Brussels for one night on a business related trip in February. The hotel was booked through Hotwire, and I was quite happy when I found out that I was getting the Sheraton, which at many other locations has been a pleasant stay for a budget price (through Hotwire).

As I was arriving late, I e-mailed the hotel in advance to let them know. No reply.

At arrival I asked whether it would be possible to have a late checkout, noop. if I wanted anything later than 12.00, there would be a charge.

The room was on the 11th floor with a ok view, among others of the Hilton on the other side.
The furniture was very old, and the only thing new I could spot was the television. Toilet seat among others, was well worn, not a particularly expensive thing to change.

As I needed a shirt for the next morning, I was looking for an iron and ironing board but could not locate it. Tried calling guest services, no reply. Went down to the lobby to be told that it was in my room in the cupboard. I went back up, still couldn't find it. Called guest services, and finally they sent someone with it. (This person was however very quick, and much appreciated).

I did not find the bed very comfortable and slept quite bad as the heating system in the room was outdated. It was -8 outside this night, and the temperature kept being way too high, even when turning down/off the heat.
I could also hear every single step my nieghbour was taking in his room, as well as different taps being turned on and off in surrounding rooms.

The free internet everyone's bragging about, it's only up to 128 kbps, if you need a higher speed you will have to pay. And no, it's not enough for skype!

The pool is quite nice but oh so cold, and the sauna holds about 30-40c.

Don't get me wrong, for paying €60 on hotwire, it was acceptable. But to think that someone might pay €130 is completely stupid. This hotel needs a proper refurbishment.
Until that has taken place, if you really need to live near Rogier, have a look at the sorrounding hotels like the Hilton, Crowne Plaza or Thon.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are of sincerely sorry to hear of your disappointment and do wish you will give us another chance in the future.
And just for clarity, at all Sheratons worldwide there is a (reasonable) late-checkout fee past 12noon, which is waived for our SPG Platinum and Gold guests; SPG is also soon launching "Your 24" benefits for the highest-tier SPG Platinum members.

“Big rooms and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012 via mobile

Pricelined the room for $80/ night and that made this a steal. Walking distance to Grand Place and the Nord train station too. Bar is kind of dead. Big rooms ala USA size so that is a bonus. I recommend it

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for recommending our hotel! We are glad that you appreciated our large rooms and convenient location.
We also invite you to come back on a day of the week when our hotel is more full so you can experience the normally positive atmosphere in our contemporary OBar, open every evening for drinks or a casual dinner with friends or family.
Kind regards,

“North American service in Europe.”

5 nights at the Sheraton in Brussels on a conference. As expected with a Sheraton, the rooms were nice, with all amenities required, the hotel was nice and the service levels were nice. Exactly what you would expect from a Sheraton, no more, no less.
