Even though the price is a little too high, and the noise is too bad in the morning on the backside of the hotel, I had quite a pleasant stay for one night. Clean and ok breakfast. The wifi should be free!!

Recently stayed two nights at this hotel. The service was good. They had our room ready a couple hours early. The room was very large and was probably the nicest room I have stayed in. It was well-appointed and very comfortable.

The reason for the lower rating is that our room was at the back of the hotel and the street noise was terrible. Even though we were on the 4th floor we were kept up both nights but vehicles loading and unloading items. It felt as though we were on the ground level with no windows. The hotel's linens are picked up each day starting at 5:00 am. I cannot describe how loud this was. I mentioned it to the front desk and they just said "yeah, it is loud in that area." A two night stay with two nights of poor sleep. If you stay here, insist on a room away from this area.

Also, they quoated us 9.50 euros for 3 hours of wifi which is just ridiculous. Small b&bs offer it for free.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and was really suprised by how nice it was. I booked this hotel as part of a budget break and the Bristol-Stephanie is not a budget hotel.
The hotel room I stayed in was excellent, if slightly out-dated, and included everything that you could need for a short stay: toiletries, hair dryer, television and tea/coffee making facilities were included as standard. There was a mini-bar which was expensive (as you would expect) and free internet access in the reception area
The service was good and the reception staff had a detailed knowledge of the area; upon asking I recieved a city map and information about all the best places to visit. The hotel is located on one of the key shopping streets of the city and this area is modern. The historial buildings and town are roughly a 20 minute (slow) walk away but there is an underground station at the end of the street if you don't fancy walking. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay in another one run by the same company.

This Hotel is priced well, rooms are very nice and location is very good.
Two isssues for me though. Staff at Reception and in the Bar especially need to be reminded that customers are their lifeblood. Reception staff were brusque and unwelcoming. Bar Staff need to learn to smile and converse with their customers. They both represented the worst example of an inhospitable Hotel atmosphere. Owners/Managers ? Time to look at staff replacement and training I think. Inter personal skills were absent, and this is a competitive business.
Complaint 2. Hotel security? Interconnecting doors need to be insulated against the sounds of randy businessmen entertaining ladies of the night, and negotiating rates!
Is this what I should expect in future ? This Hotel provided a unique experience; materially perfect, but lacking in warmth and feelgood factor, ( for most of us :) )
