It is clear that the rooms have been recently refurbished, but that was the only good part of staying at Waterloo's Grand Hotel.
I tried to order room service and none of the extensions worked. I had to call the hotel from my cell phone to get someone to answer me, who explain that indeed the extensions marked on the phone didn't work, and I should dial 820 directly. When I asked how I was suppose to know that, she replied "there was no way you should know".
I order the in-room wireless access and the connection would drop all the time. Interestingly enough, the connection was much better from our offices next door the following day than in my room.
After working until late I ordered in-room breakfast around 12.30am, by hanging my order on the door handle. I had asked for breakfast at 7-7.15am, and only when I broke from working at 7.30am I realized the service was late. I opened the room door and found the breakfast order still hanging from the handle! This is the first time that this has ever happened to me in any hotel anywhere in the world.
Upon check-out I asked for a complaint form, and was inform that there wasn't one available!
If you can avoid staying at the Grand Hotel do it. You will have a much more pleasant stay in Waterloo.
