Choose NH over Novotel (which is literally round the corner) because of prior good experiences in other NH hotels. Was VERY disappointed when shown room. I understand now why reviews were so vastly different. Some floors are renovated, some are not. BE CAREFUL which room you have! The unrenovated room was terrible with peeling wallpaper. It looked a sorry 2* standard that has seen better days. We paid for the upgrade and got the renovated room ("superior room" vs. "standard room") and it was more like the NH standard we had come to expect. However, the bathroom saw minimal renovation. Silly that they renovated the rooms but did not revamp the bathroom save for doing some cosmetic changes. Old tiles and bath.
New rooms were fine for the price. Breakfast very good, all the standard fare available (rolls, yogurt, juices, fruit, meats, conflakes, bacon, scrambled eggs).
Location good, but it's a small place so most of the hotels are centrally located!
Didn't check out parking but street parking free after 7pm and on Sundays.

Travelled to Mechelen for business. Arrived yesterday and came by car. The parking lot is only meant for experienced drivers, something that might be characteristic to all Mechelen parking lots underground.

Room is run down. Wallpaper is coming off the walls. Bad airco, made me sick. Remote controls is not working. I will try to get another room today. Friendly service though, so far. Room service at night is very limited.

The hotel room we had was good and clean, with a very good (and large) bed and a decent bath room. The bath was a bit small though.

There is a free pillow service, which means that you can order the type of pillow you want. Very nice!

Nice shampoo.

We had breakfast delivered to the room (free for the "romantic getaway"), which was quite extensive.

Location is okay, not in the very center of the town, but everything is walkable.

Minutes walk from city center and train station, very convenient for business and leisure
