This small hotel is conveniently located: on the square of the (beautiful) Antwerp railwaystation, the zoo is just across the square, there's a huge underground parking in front: couldn't be better. It's a budget hotel, now run by Accor, so you get value for money. We stayed in room 707, the last room in the corridor, facing the quiet backside of the hotel, and the room was not noisy at all, fortunately. The room was clean and had all the basics, nothing more. The bed was queen size and nothing more then acceptable. So overall no complaints, given the roomrate. Unfortunately, the hotel suffers from a very unpleasant smell in the lifts and corridors, which is less then welcoming. I wonder if somewhere a pipe was broken.
A cold buffet breakfast is included in the roomrate, and the quality and quantity is certainly sufficient. There's complimentary WIFI and a hot coffee and tea corner, which was very pleasant.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a three night package to Antwerp Christmas Market. We arrived by rail during pouring rain and were relieved to find the hotel a few hundred yards on the left of the square from the front of the station. Having read past reviews we asked for a room away from the square and apart from the odd police siren, had no problem with noise. The room was clean, comfortable and furnished in a minimalist but practical style. The room had a good heater which soon dried our coats out. The shower was good and bathroom clean. BBC was available on the TV. Breakfast was provided and was the usual continental fare and although not extensive, quite adequate. The hotel is situated some 20 minutes walk or a short tram ride from the centre of Antwerp. As might be expected near a station the area has a tired appearance but it was perfectly safe with a wide range of reasonably priced restaurants, catering for all tastes. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We requested extra pillows and replacements for missing towels and received them within minutes. A good value hotel.

Antwerp Central station is magnificent. The square outside in which the hotel is situated is quite nice with lots of attractions.....

The hotel is OK. Once I had a room with a working toilet I found it very comfortable and clean and quiet (I stayed at the back of the hotel). What really lets it down are the breakfasts and the locale.

There was absolutely nothing hot to eat at breakfast....you couldn't even make toast. Cold meats (poor quality)....cereal...fruit salad rolls etc. Hot drinks yes but from a machine. Not a great start to the day especially in December.

Surrounding the hotel is seedy city with strip joints,gaming joints...nightclubs, massage parlours and beggars of almost every nationality including English and Scottish. You generally get accosted within a forty yard radius of the hotel at least two or three times a day. Not much fun. At night it's even worse...oh and the place is generally being rebuilt everywhere you go.

The centre of Antwerp is nice but Bruges was a lot better and Mechelen to the south as well. Mechelen is smaller and doesn't have the sex/gambling/beggar element.....should have stayed there. Bruges at Xmas is lovely a bit like a medieval Disneyland.....I'd recommend.

The hotel I would generally say 'yes' .... where it is I would definitely say 'No' and that's a shame.

Once you get there by car, after negotiating Antwerp's streets and horrific driving behaviour the hotel is really good value. Very good and modern room and full ( cold) breakfast. Excellent central location near to many restaurants and Central Station. Plenty of opportunities to buy diamonds ! Don't forget to ask for parking ticket reduction if you park at nearby underground car park.
