Perfect location. Small scale hotel, very cosy. Most of the rooms have a patio. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed here on business but I would stay again if it were a holiday. Welcoming reception which offered a glass of port or sherry. This may be useful if you have just attempted to drive in to Antwerp, where the rush hour traffic was total gridlock - allow yourself an extra hour to arrive if it is late afternoon. The hotel has a secure garage just round the corner. The room was clean and big enough, bathroom likewise. Breakfast was also just enough. Location is excellent for visiting main square.

We stayed only one night here but would return again for sure! Excellent location, ok room (see below) and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were attentive, although it seemed the front desk staff were only when a Manager was around checking on them. Sad really as it is truly a lovely Hotel, our room was obviously a smoking room (although we were not asked our preference nor could we request this on the booking), it was ok as we opened the window and allowed fresh air to come into the room the time we were there but it would have been nice to have been asked when we booked in!
Location wise, you could not get any better as it was walking distance to heaps of places for dinner (still did not find the one recommended by the Hotel) and the Historical Square for photos etc.
Other comments (1) is that the street outside the Hotel was closed off the day we were departing but the Staff appeared not to know about this, we were very lucky that our Taxi driver parked at the end of the street and came up to the Hotel to see if we were waiting there and helped us to the Taxi...............Staff need to be more aware of what is happening outside of the Hotel for their Guests! (2) When we booked in our room was not available (this is OK) but the bag storage area (with no assistance from the Staff at all) is extremely small (large cupboard) and we had to move bags etc around to fit our bags in.

Hotel Rubens is a pleasant hotel located very conveniently in the old town, only about 100m from the cathedral. The rooms are spacious, clean, airy and air conditioned, although some of the décor is starting to look a little tired.
I visited Antwerp with a party of friends for a boy’s long weekend. We are all frequent visitors to this lovely city. On previous visits we have always used hotels rather more distant from the old town, consequently, we found the location of Hotel Rubens absolutely perfect. The location is of course reflected in their room rates. We were greeted with a glass of sherry or port by a charming receptionist. There was one down side to our arrival. Some nine months previously I had reserved three twin bedded rooms. On arrival only one room was made up as a twin and two of us had to have individual rooms for the first two nights of our stay and then move to a twin room. To the hotel’s credit they rapidly rectified their error.
Breakfast was particularly good, almost everything you can think of, both hot and cold. We found all members of staff pleasant and helpful.
Overall, a well located hotel that we would all certainly use again.
