This hotel is situated next to the Central Station (a beautiful, impressive Art Deco building) in Antwerp and is right in the heart of the main shopping area. It is ideally placed for bars and restaurants, of which there is no end of choice. The zoo is at the other side of the station.
I was wary, having read some adverse reviews of this hotel. However, we found it to be perfectly adequate for our needs - clean room with all the usual facilities, a basic but good breakfast included, and friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is currently undergoing some extension work of the reception area, but noise was not an issue.
A word of warning - there are mosquitos in the room - my husband was bitten many times and we initially attributed this to our visit to the zoo. However, as he continued to be bitten more as each day went by, we became suspicious - then I saw 2 mosquitos in our hotel room! Take some repellant / room spray.

Stayed here in Aug., very warm. Gave us an 8th floor room (you had to pay before staying- there's the first clue) and it was was VERY warm. We were wet with sweat- NO AIR CONDITIONING in the rooms (warm air rises). Asked for another fan (you get a small one), but they told us there were no more available. Lady in the next room checked into her room and there was someone else in there (and she had to pay another 4 euro for staying extra days- and they wouldn't even forgive it after her troubles)! Windows open VERY little and if you shut the curtains, no air will come in. Room is very small and mattress is so low, it is almost on the ground. Breakfast was very poor as well...Definitely would not receommend this hotel- worst I've ever had...

The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable and let's be honest, you get what you pay for.
I read reviews about how terrible this place was, but really couldn't find any faults. The breaksfast was basic, but there was enough and it kept us going until we loaded up on lovely waffles in town.
If you've booked this and read the reviews, don't panic - it's really ok!

Just an average city centre ,hotel. Right next to main station, parking in side streets..we seemed to arrive during a period when the local authorities had decided to dig up most of the roads in the city centre... TomTom was totally outfoxed ! Probably around the hottest day of the summer, I had driven all day from Southern Germany in temps between 35-40 C.
The Tall ships had docked in town for the night so very interesting down on the waterfront.
Could have done with some aircon, but instead just used shower and wet the towels and used a body coverings.. breakfast ok, staff were all ok..
