Recently renovated hotel, nice and comfortable rooms with huge TV! Very good location (300m. from central station). No restaurant in the hotel but plenty of choice around the hotel. Restaurant Gran Duca was recommended by the receptionist, really lovely kitchen in a good atmosphere!

We found the rooms were nice and big, and the bathrooms to be above average compared to the other bathrooms where we stayed during our european holiday. The staff originally were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
However, we left the laptop lid open when we left our room to do the "tourist things" for the day, and when we came back to our room to drop off some of our shopping and things, we noticed there was a liquid substance laying on the keyboard of the laptop. when we went to wipe this off, it appeared to be cleaning/shower gel. I fired up the computer, and even though it was still processing, the keyboard was fried. I took it straight down to the desk and involved the manager, and of course, I just got a nice letter saying that since it can't be proofed it was their cleaner, they were taking no responsibility. They also couldn't advise me somewhere to take it for repairs. it took us 5 mins of walking around a city we didn't know, to find a very helpful friendly repair man who looked after us very well.
We were in no way aggressive or unpleasant throughout this procedure, we stayed friendly and tried to find a solution to the problem. However since the incident the staff have been very curt and lost their friendliness.
The only other "problem" with the room we found is it is exceptionally noisy. you can hear everything happening in rooms around and above you, including people talking, not to mention the street noise.
We also asked for twin rooms, as we are two friends travelling, and got a room suitable for a couple. this was rectified easily with the re-arrangement of furniture, and the fact that most european hotels that we've seen have two single beds together as a double. thank goodness the room was big enough to allow this.
