“Nice, clean and in the middle of construction works”

The hotel itself is nice and clean but right in the middle of some huge construction works.
This makes the entrance as good as invisible and thus hard to find ... I missed the entrance
of the garage. This should not something to be worried about if there were an easy way to
get there but I had to dive into the heavy traffic again (Single) to make two U-turns to retry
finding the garage and this while the exit was blocked a huge construction work cars so that
driving there is a risky business even when your are an experienced driver.

The garage itself is very little and not desgined for todays cars ... then again people always
tend to think they drive a very big car even when it is a two-sitter :-)

What I think is a pitty is that I had to take my car (or call a taxi) to get somewhere. Is is quiet
a huge walk before you can see something interesting.

Rooms where big - we got a DELUXE KING room for a nice price - with a the nice little things
that give a hotel room just that extra something. A big bath room, a good bed to sleep in.

Breakfast was plently ... but also a crowdy place to be. If people made room in time there was
also one or two seats free; some people even had to wait.

I hope all will get better again when amm the work there is done.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you very much for your review of your stay in January 2012. We appreciate very much the time you have taken to inform us about your experiences at the time you spend here in Antwerpen.
Unfortunately indeed, we are faced with construction works which will last a longer period of time. Because of your review, we can think of creative ways to show and improve our visibility.
We have placed a big sign and a huge banner before on the street side to indicate where the hotel is located. Unfortunately, we don't always notice when construction vans block these signs therefore reducing the visibility.
Our underground garage has the height most garages have, 1m80.
We are indeed located on the outskirts of the city of Antwerpen with the most attractions inside of the city.
With the excellent public transport (metro or bus), you can easily reach the sparkling centre of Antwerpen, famous for it's musea, harbour side and many fine restaurants to explore.
Over the past year 2011, we have refurbished first part of our hotelrooms, finisihing up the remainder of the rooms this year, until April.
These changes and small aminities such as good beds, free botlle of water, rustique colours all provide a good and happy feeling to our guests. We will keep a close eye on our restaurant and the business, especially in the weekend. We have designed special posters that we hang out in our elevators when the most busy times of our breakfast are in the weekend.
When all the works are well progressed and in the process of finishing up, we also hope that all is becoming to the way we were used too, without construction side before the hotel.

“Good Hotel”

Stayed at the Ramada Plaza Antwerp for 4 nights during the 1st week of january 2011. We got a "Deluxe King Room" which have been recently refurbished. The room is a very good size. Even though the room has been refurbished, the bathroom still looks a bit outdated. Even though we asked for a non-smoking room, there still was an ashtrayholder in the bathroom next to the toilet, hence you could pick up a sigarette smell in the bathroom. Luckily the room itself didn't have that awful smell. Nice touches are the complimentary bottle of water, free wifi, friendly reception staff. Outside the building there were construction works going on, but because we stayed there 1st week of jan, we didn't hear any construction noises. Haven't used their parking garage, I parked my car in front of the building on the streetside for free. I haven't been worried about my car, it was perfectly safe there. Haven't tried out their breakfast. The location of the hotel is ok. Not in the city centre, but close to the motorways (no traffic noise in the hotel!). If you want to go to the citycentre, you can easily take the "tram" which is only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Go for a newly refurbished room.

Thank you very much for your review on your stay in Ramada Plaza Antwerp during the first days of the year.
We are very pleased to learn that you liked our "Deluxe King Room", which had been refurbished last year.
Besides our renewed rooms and our friendly staff, we also benefit from the location, not far from the city and very easy in reach towards to the city centre with the public transport Antwerpen offers.
Desite being close to the highways, there is indeed less noise, due to good isolation of the rooms and our building.
We are looking forward to welcoming you again more often, as we want you to enjoy more pleasant stays in our hotel.

“Great Hotel”

I recently stayed in the Ramada Plaza, to discover what new years eve celebrations Antwerp has to offer.

The hotel lives up to a four star hotel, as it has excellent facilities and the guest rooms are very clean and modern. The hotel has a nice friendly atmosphere, which you don’t normally get from the larger hotels. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional at all times. The safe underground parking was very helpful. The hotel is a 10min taxi ride from down town Antwerp which cost about €11 . I would defiantly stay here again if I was in Antwerp.

“cheap, noisy hotel with terrible staff”

staying here at the moment, for a business-trip, I arrived very tired last night. Unfortunately they started hammering right next to my ear this morning at 8am, as I was hoping to still get some sleep. When I called the reception, they were very clear and unfriendly about it.
Breakfast staff was unfriendly as well, as they started cleaning things up at 09.55 (breakfast was supposed to be until 10am), and last night at the restaurant, things were even worse as we had to wait 1,5 hours for our food. When I asked (very polite) if they had forgotten us, the waitress answered that I could see for myself that it was very busy and accused me in a way for asking about the food. rooms are old fashioned and worn out, beds are bad, you can't open a window; I never want to come back here!

Dear Sir,
I thank you very much for the review you posted concering your stay in december.
From all comments, good or bad, we can learn from and use in our advantage to try and improve for future times and future guests. We are indeed faced with renovations at the Vivium building in front of the hotel. As they are doing a renovation project, we are indeed faced with the noise that this brings along. In meantime this noise has been less already, as most part of the breakdown has finished from the outside and backside facing the hotel. I do apologize for this and the way in which your complaint was taken up when you called to our reception. We can't control the renovations at the bank, we can only try and remain friendly and calm when our guests call us. I will also speak with our new appointed f&b manager to sort out the issues with the breakfast staff and times, like also the troubles you experienced with the waiting times and the answer you received when you informed about your ordered meals. As well as good products, our main focus must be good service from all of our staff at all times. This is something we will carefully monitor and always will be trying to improve. At this current moment, we had started our second and final fase of renovations of our room, this should be finished in April. At this time, all of our rooms, will be given a modern touch in comfort with new beds and rustique colours. We hope that this will contribute to a more happy feeling in the future for all of our guests who choose Ramada Plaza Antwerp for their stay.
Indeed, windows can't be opened, that's because of the construction when the hotel was first build. This unfortunately, we can't change.

“excellent and good value”

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions.They have spent a lot of money and effort upgrading their rooms and it is a great to use as a location for a visit to the very interesting town of Antwerp. The MAS museum and gallery has received rave reviews.
