This tired hotel is supported (literally) by a very helpful and cheery staff - a great Spa but little else. It is in a relaxing but out of the way location.

We stayed for 3 nights over the New Year. Overall, it's a lovely hotel but our stay would have been much better if they had supplied two things. Firstly, there was no tea making facilities in our standard room - something I didn't spot on their website. I asked if they could supply tea and coffee and, to their credit, they did. Secondly, could they spare more than one receptionist at any one time? Each time we either checked in or out or wanted to ask a question, we had to wait for about 5 minutes to be seen to. They also answer the phone calls from the rooms so you often have to wait some timefor the phone to be answered. The receptionists were all very helpful and their English faultless but surely the hotel has more than one? On a plus side, we asked for a quiet room and got one, the room was spacious and warm and the staff very helpful and friendly. It was a bit too far to walk backwards and forwards to the city more than once a day so we may choose a more central hotel if we visit Antwerp again

This hotel is just fine, there's nothing to complain about. Location at the park, where lots of half-wild white and beige rabbits live. It's a nice walk through this park to get to the city centre. Just across the park is also a square with some nice bars and restaurants, so you never have to walk too far if you fancy a drink or so. There's also a bar in the hotel of course, with big plump chairs and small tables and a very shiny slippery floor, watch the high heels!
Rooms are standard size, beds a bit hard, with bathtub and huge wardrobe with mirror-covered sliding doors.
The gym is small but fully equipped, and the swimming pool with sauna and whirlpool is just super.
Excellent breakfast with lots of healthy options: cereals, fruits, herbal tea. If you want a pot of tea, you have to take the pot yourself out of the drawer below the table with the tea selection.
We booked with breakfast included, but if I would have had to pay EUR27,50 for it, I would have skipped it though: no breakfast is worth 27,50 and there are many coffee bars and bakeries in the centre where one could easily have a fine breakfast..
There's a parking below the hotel, but it's not very large and the parking spots are tight, so if you drive a big car, be careful.

The hotel is in a relatively poor location, and initial impressions are not good.

All parts of the hotel, except the spa/fitness area, are in a urgent need of renovation and rooms (stayed in a executive room) are by no means impressive by European standards. I would not go back to the hotel until a renovation has taken place, as the hotel by no means are worth EUR 125 per night (and EUR 26 for horrible breakfast).

Staff are friendly and, are basically the only reason for giving 2 rather than 1.

Suggest you spend the few EUR more and stay at the Hilton, which has great rooms and much better location.
