The hotel is well-placed in a popular residential area near the Peace Palace. Close is tramline 17 that takes 10 minutes to the centre, 15 minutes to the central station and, in the other direction, 5 minutes to the wonderful Gemeentemuseum. The room we had was large and well-equipped, with comfortable beds. Unlike some other reviewers, I was not very much bothered by streetnoise: if you need absolute quiet, it's probably not your place, but if you're used to some noise from traffic outside, it's quite allright. Breakfast is ok, there's free wifi, a good bar. Service is friendly.
What bothered me were minor inconveniences in the room that add up to minor annoyance: changing temperature in the shower, lack of coatpegs, housekeeping that comes too early. The management could correct most of these easily.
On the whole, a good choice, but open to improvement.

November is not a high season and I got very good rate on Internet. Free wifi is now available. They allow early check in as long as a room is available. The check-in is quick and efficient. Staff friendly and breakfast ok. Location is not in the centre but not too far (within half an hour walk or few minutes by tram). Two big supermarkets nearby on the same road to the right of the hotel (about 200 metres) or 10 minutes walk to the centre (two stops by tram) next to a McDonald. The room is small (with a big bathroom) but adequate with kettle, safe, bathroom amenities, working desk, comfortable beds etc., the worst part is the noise from the tram if the room is facing the tram line. Street lights all night is also a problem. No air conditioning. But overall, it is good value for money.

I stayed here for one night and got a room at the first floor. It was a bit noisy. The curtains of the room did not close properly and light from the street-lights and the hotel sign kept sipping in. The one good part about the hotel was its bar, which was very lovely.

I booked this hotel after being advised by a co-worker that it was conveniently located near a tram stop.Little did I realise that this same tram (together with the buses) would keep me up most of the night.
Upon arrival, I noticed that the window in my room did not close properly, meaning that a lot of noise from the street was coming in. When I went down to reception to discuss this, there was another guest also complaining about the noise coming in from the street. The receptionist told me that she knew about the problem and that it would be fixed... next week. After complaining about this course of affairs, she informed me that there were no other rooms available, but that 'I could have a free drink in the bar'. Two nights in this hotel have left me exhausted and unable to focus during the day, even though I wanted to be sharp for my important meeting. Money down the drain, I could just as easily have slept in my car.
