“Early registration fee”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I stayed at the NH Den Haag for one night in January 2012. I was stunned when the reception asked for a 20 euros early registration fee - we arrived shorly after 11AM. I have spent nearly half of all working days in the past 15 years in hotels, and it is the first time I am asked to pay an early registration fee. When making the reservation on the internet, I asked for a quiet room on an upper floor. I was given the first room near the elevator on the 7th floor of an 18th floor building - not very attentive to special requests.

The room looked nice, but the bathroom area is really not functional.

I complained about the early registration fee when checking out and informed them I will never stay at a NH hotel in the future.

Room Tip: 18th floor is for smokers

“Excellent hotel for every occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We staid in NH Den Hague only for one night, but we were welcomed very friendly and the lobby looked really nice. Once we were able to check-in and got to our room we were stunned by the luxury that a standard room had to offer. The bathroom had all the necessary utilities and when you are missing something, you just have to call the reception and they will arrange it for you. The location is a bit out of city center but within walking distance (+/- 20min), but the central train station isn't far away and there are stops along the street of the hotel. We really recommend having dinner in the restaurant of the hotel because the service was very good and the menu had something for everyone. Prices are also affordable.

“Fairly convenient for den Haag Centraal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

It isn't the cheapest, nor is it in a very inspiring area of the Hague, but you can either catch a tram or walk into the city centre. The hotel also provides a system by which you can take electrically powered taxis into town; it's probably about the same price as taking taxis in general, or at least I didn't detect a cost difference, but as well as being great for the environmentally friendly-minded, it's also more convenient as there is usually one available.

Breakfast was a well-equipped buffet. The restaurant is excellent. It had an unusually Dutch-inspired dinner menu for an international business hotel, which offered some welcome variety compared to the usual cheeseburger-and-caesar-salad standard. They also have a good choice of beers.

The vast majority of the staff encountered were friendly and cheerful. I have good memories of it overall, but if I weren't travelling for business purposes, I'd find it overpriced.

“Dog Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Like other reviewers, you will find that this is largely a business hotel. The area goes very quiet on the weekend and you have to walk or take a tram to get to shopping, attractions and any other restaurants. That being said, a tram that goes straight to Den Haag Central Station is just outside the doors of the hotel and from there you can go anywhere in the city since Central Station is also the central bus terminal.

Room service menu is limited, but breakfast buffet was excellent.

We recently stayed there during a house move with our two small dachshunds. The staff couldn't have been nicer. There are areas around the hotel to walk your dog as well.

Room Tip: Breakfast is served on the first floor, so make your room choice accordingly. Windows do open (we w...
