“excellent location small cosy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

city center location. good shops, restaurants, key sights nearby.
cosy hotel, huge bed (2.1m,but its 2singles put together).big bathroom. big french window.
average breakfast, beautiful room settings.
have a lift (which is not that common in europe)

have to pay for WIFI, not cheap!
limited parking by street, expensive. garage is about 500m away, not too bad, but hotel didnt give any instructions about how to get to the garage/which is the cloest, etc.
the bed is way too soft, but i was told its a dutch thing, so be prepared.

overall a very good hotel for city explorers. book advance for discount, good value. will stay next time in town.

“New Years visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Once again, we were well looked after at the Paleis Hotel. This was my third stay there, this time with my husband. We had a wonderful spacious room with a lovely bathroom. This isn't one of the hotels biggest rooms but plenty big enough for our 3 night stay. The breakfast as always was very good.
The hotel were very helpful when I asked them via email to help with some restaurant bookings as new year was quite booked up and it seems alot of bars/restaurants close down for New Years Eve.
Our only 'eye opener' was we were woken up on New Years Eve to the sound of thousands of fireworks going off and the noise continued up until 4am New Years Day. It was like being in a war zone and the streets are almost empty as hundreds of youths and young adults let of their fireworks. Shops close down too so probably not the best time for sight seeing! We got absolutely no sleep that night, also the room above us held their own party until early hours of the morning. The hotel staff did attempt to quieten them down after complaints from other residents though.
All in all we love this city and Hotel and will be visiting again in the summer :)

Room Tip: The street view rooms are the nicest, it's usually very quiet and nice to look up and down.

“Charming home, superb hosts, in one of the best locations in The Hague.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

You will be received very well by the hotel staff once you get in. You will immediately feel welcome! Yes, it is a small hotel, but the rooms, and especially the bathrooms, are large enough for a comfortable sleep. Since it is in a quiet part of town, noise from the streets will never be a problem especially on weekdays. I would imagine that weekends might be a different story, but I cannot say for sure.

The hotel has an elegant lounge area and if you need a beer or coffee, there's a counter available and if the receptionist isn;t busy, she might even pour a bottle for you. I cannot over-emphasize the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. I was really delighted to stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor. If however you have many pieces of luggage it might be more convenient to...

“great location, lovely decor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed here on the 5th of November with friends and from the moment we made the booking (direct with the hotel, which is the cheapest option) the staff proved to be very helpful.

The rooms were very nice, great shower and beds. The breakfast is plentiful with enough variation to suit everyone.

Our friend stayed in a room overlooking the courtyard, which proved to be by far the best option if you prefer a quiet night, as late night revellers can make a lot of noise. The rooms at the front are equipped with ear plugs, but even so the noise can be anoying for some.

If we had to gripe about anyhing is that there are no mini fridges in the rooms, or tea coffee making facilities.

Room Tip: for a quiet night, book a rear facing room

“a real gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Visited The Hague with an art group and the Paleis Hotel could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They helped with restaurant and coach bookings and had our rooms ready early for us. The hotel itself is the best kind of boutique hotel you can find. It is charming, beautifully decorated (I love Pierre Frey) and the breakfast area is elegant as well. If you like old world charm coupled with new world sophistication (and great bathrooms) than you will love this hotel- in a great location in the center of town.
