“Good rooms, breakfasts need sorting out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Arrived quite late at night and eventually found the way into the cark park. Very polite staff at reception, who quickly checked us into our top floor rooms, which were slightly less austere than Novotel rooms usually are (probably to do with the fact that this originally traded under another brand). The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. It was slightly tedious to ahve to go back to reception to get a password for the free internet, but at least it was free and worked. The breakfast experience was not good. Outside of the hotel's control was a fellow guest who was "holding court" and regaling her teenage audience with travel stories. Slightly more within the hotel's control was the distress caused to an elderly lady who tripped and fell on the very poorly marked step - the lighting was very poor so I guess that this was not the first time that this has happened. Finally several of the breakfast options kept running out - not enough staff were on duty to keep things running smoothly.

“Mr. Taat is the fraud in Novotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I propose to dismiss Mr. Krijn TAAT (Hotel Manager of the Novotel World Forum) for the fraud: he didn't inform us about the repair in this hotel. I paid for executive room, but I'm hearing the repair every minute, but Mr. Taat just went from his workplace. The girl from reception said that she can't help without Mr. Taat, but he is absent. It's the Novotel's fraud.

The hotel was a building side!!!! We (neither colleagues nor clients) were told that the hotel is under refurbishment. The way it was handled was non-existing!

“Not up to standards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I had reason to stay here several times in the summer of 2011 as we moved to The Hague (close to his office, firm got a discount). The desk staff are friendly and helpful, but the good things stop there. The bartender was often absent, the restaurant dinner waiter couldn't be bothered about service, the breakfast staff are conspicuous in their absences. The rooms were down-at-the-heels, with worn carpets, cigarette burns in sinks and on tubs, and limited hanging space. I know they are renovating (as evidenced by the frequent construction noise and materials cluttering the entry), but it will take some upgrades on the staff, as well, to make this a place to stay. Better to go next door to the BelAire!

“Worst hotel stay in years!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I should have known there would be a problem when I was given a free voucher for a drink inthe bar when I checked in. I was told that here were renovations ongoing abd this was byway if apology.
Let's get the good things out of the way., the staff are polite and friendly. The breakfast is very good but all thus is outweighed by the builders starting drilling, hammering and sawing at 6.30am. Then no water in the morning. Hit or cold! After complaining I was told I could go up to the 12th floor for a shower etc. After waiting for the staff to come up with the key I couldnt even get a lift up 8 floors as they were full of builders and there equipment.

I could go on but suffice to say this is not the place to stay.
