Arrived quite late at night and eventually found the way into the cark park. Very polite staff at reception, who quickly checked us into our top floor rooms, which were slightly less austere than Novotel rooms usually are (probably to do with the fact that this originally traded under another brand). The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. It was slightly tedious to ahve to go back to reception to get a password for the free internet, but at least it was free and worked. The breakfast experience was not good. Outside of the hotel's control was a fellow guest who was "holding court" and regaling her teenage audience with travel stories. Slightly more within the hotel's control was the distress caused to an elderly lady who tripped and fell on the very poorly marked step - the lighting was very poor so I guess that this was not the first time that this has happened. Finally several of the breakfast options kept running out - not enough staff were on duty to keep things running smoothly.
