I stayed at this hotel in july 2011,i was dissopointed the room they gave me had just been painted so i asked for another one,it was dirty and the noise from the clubs at the back ment i could not sleep,it only had one lift so i used the stairs a lot and noticed that they had not been cleaned in all the time i was there,i payed about £85.00 a night and i think i would have got better in a cheap bed and breakfast,i will say that the breakfast is ok if you eat pork which i do not, the only good thing is that it is in the city cetre,i would not stay there againe.

We came to the hotel last November for my other half's birthday, and upon our return lodged a complaint to the site which it was booked from. Over a year and no reply, so I decided to share our 'experiences' on here!

Our first impressions were fairly positive- it's an imposing building with a great central location. End of the positives...

We were given the key to our room, which was on the top floor. Unfortunately the lift was out of order, so we lugged our bags all the way up, got to our room, and found the door ajar. A quick peep in the room and we found it was full of workmen painting etc. We trudged all the way downstairs back to the reception. The receptionist was unaware that the room was being decorated! We were allocated another room. Back up stairs we went. The room was awful- There were cigarette burns on the net curtains, what looked like blood splatters on the wall behind the bed and stained sheets. We actually slept in our clothes it was that bad. The toilet handle dripped, and looked like it had been doing so for a while, because the toilet brush holder (situated below) was full to the brim.

We went out for a meal, and upon our return there was a huge pile of vomit on the wall/carpet of the landing outside our room. We reported it to reception, who said they would see to it. The next morning it was still there.

The breakfast room was dire, with peeling paint, greying eggs and while we were there the tea urn emptied it's boiling contents all over the floor.

The bar looked like some sort of bordello, very unwelcoming and full of cigarette smoke. We'll never ever go there again.

Regular visit to Rotterdam - normally stay in the inntel hotel (which is excellent)
Decided to take a deal on this place as it was cheap. Its got a great bar and the location is spot on.
Bed was clean, bathroom was clean. The hotel has probably needed a renovation for about twenty years mind, but if you want high end, you better pay some more money.
I'd recommend it only as a cheap place to stay. In my opinion you get exactly what you pay for.

The location and price that this hotel offered is excellent, only 2 minutes walk from Rotterdam train station and literally around the corner from all the bars and restaurants. Good flexibility with sleeping arrangements too, lovely choice of hot & cold breakfast on offer. For me, the was important and the hotel represents good value for money. Very relaxed and friendly staff. Free internet for guests.
