I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and have always had a good experience. It's not a fantastic or terribly modern hotel but the rooms were always decent sized and I enjoyed the breakfast. If you have to pay for Wi-Fi, you do feel like you are getting ripped off but that is unfortunately sort of standard in a lot of European hotels.

I was very disappointed by this hotel which looked nice from the outside. I got a room in a basement which had a strong sewer smell to it. I'm not a light sleeper but dripping noises kept me awake half of the night. I alerted the staff to this but apparently the hotel was totally booked and no other room available. It was obvious though that they were aware of the problem meaning they don't care much for their guests (otherwise, the room would not have been for rent in the first place).Not a pleasant experience.

Room standard was very poor. Looked like the 1980's style. Yellow carpet with stains, old TV set, bathroom with cracks in the tiles. Refurnishment is overdue.

Breakfast was good.

The hotel has an aura of greed around it. They do everything I hate in hotels: they have no free wifi, and offer instead a really expensive one. The breakfast is nothing but a scam. They offer to upgrade you for a fee, when you check in. It feels like a bad trip with Ryanair. We stayed in the cheap wing, and it was really noisy and smelly. However, the location is good, right next to the restaurant street (with lovely and cheap breakfast cafes!) and close to the museums. The hotel bar was nice and there is a decent gym. So it is not all bad, although the attitude and overall feeling is cheap and greedy.
