I stayed here during a business trip along with 5 other colleagues, after reading the reviews of the hotel I was somewhat apprehensive but as we were only staying one night we weren't too concerned if it was a poor as described by other travellers.
In summary the hotel was fine for the price; the rooms were basic but functional and had everything required. The rooms have external shutters and also mosquito mesh on the windows so we had no issues with insect bites which others have written about. The staff were nice and polite and organised a taxi for us into the centre of town as we felt that town would offer a better selection of food vs. the hotel’s restaurant as this felt very basic and was uninhabited which made us slightly nervous! The hotel is in a semi industrial area and also has a large road to its side so some of my party also noted that the road traffic was somewhat irritating which forced them to keep their windows closed. Breakfast was acceptable and offered a reasonable selection of food to satisfy most tastes. This is definitely a budget hotel and those expecting high levels of luxury should stay well clear but for those looking for a basic place to rest there head the hotel should be fine.

Good basic friendly hotel. Is a bit out of town but there are few hotels in town and there is a bus service nearby. We did not use this as parking on Sunday is free in Gouda and quiet. The retaurant at weekends is very basic but had enough to suit us. (Lasagne/pizza/omelette etc). Rooms and communal areas pleasant. I would go back if staying in Gouda again

Poor attitude of middle management staff spoiled our stay here. Rude and arrogant manner when communicating, wanted to close bar at 9.30 to make breakfasts, Very workshy. Rooms were adequate. Take insect repellant.

The room is really basic and hasn't been decorated in years. The walls bear the countless trophies of man triumphing over a variety of insects. Mostly mosquitoes. For this is mosquito central. They spend all night whining and dining on you. But don't pull the covers too far over your head - there might be worse things down there and room service randomly "forget" to clean rooms. And today it's mine. Which means I get to keep the damp rags that sit in the bathroom where towels should be. And the shower I used this morning has dripped something dark and inky all over the shower curtain and wall. And I'm here for 4 more nights. Argh.
PS don't eat in the hotel restaurant. Ever.
