After a terrible room experience in Amsterdam, we hoped our next stop in Delft would be an improvement. I booked this room from the states before leaving and thus was locked into it. To our relief, this was an excellent choice; we even stayed there again at the end of our trip on the night before our flight home (it is about a one hour drive from the hotel to Schipol Airport).

I believe this is a French chain of budget-minded hotels that are relatively new. We had a triple for two adults and one child, which consisted of a queen and a single. The room was very clean, had amenities like a tv, tea/coffee, iron. The bathroom was almost as large as the room and likewise was spotless. One surprise was that the shower was in one corner of the large bathroom with no curtains or sliding doors, so the entire bathroom tended to get wet from the shower. They offer a full breakfast and will include it on the bill unless you tell them you don't want it, but at 10 Euros p.p. we figured we could do better at a bakery in town. Plus, for those in need of a coffee larger than a small cough medicine cup, there is a McDonald's 200 yards away. Plus, their Internet rates are much cheaper than their normal rates.

There may have been a bus service to downtown Delft, but we had a rental car and drove into town and parked in a garage (about a 10 minute drive). The hotels in the downtown had much more charm, but were considerably more expensive than Campanile. For beer travelers, there is a well-stocked beer pub (brown cafe) called Locus Publicus in the center of Delft.
