The location is excellent, right behind the dunes, and it is a 3 minute walk to the beach. The hotel rents bicycles and it is a nice ride to Vlissingen or Middelburgh. Personell is very friendly. The hotel looks sligthly outdated, but the rooms and especially the bathroom seem the be renovated/redecorated, and they did a nice job with the latter. There ’s a shower and a bath. Although the bath looks tiny due to its shape (very small at one end) it actually works quite well, even for somebody of 1.80 m. Big pre; there is a seperate toilet.
Besides a fridge, the room has tea- and coffee facilities, quite exceptional for dutch hotels! But, the safe was tiny to modern standards. Would have preferred one that fits laptop. Talking about laptop; if you wanted to be wireless for more than an hour, you had to buy a ticket that was only valid for a day. So use it 1 hr on day 1, you cannot use another hour on day 3!
Room 12 also had a tiny terrace, adjoining the garden. Too bad it only had sun in the morning.
The interior of the room is quite bland, and the double bed consists of 2 single beds/matrasses pushed together. I have the impression that it's a Golden Tulip policy to not have real double/queen size beds.
Tv has a very limited remote, only channel up and down. Which, with more than 30 channels, becomes very annoying very quickly.
There is a lot of noise from doors slamming close in the hallway, so bring earplugs.
The swimmingpool is too tiny too swim laps (my guess would be 4 by 6 m), just enough for kids to splash around.
Breakfastbuffet has plenty of choice.

The first approach was good: very common building but nice rooms and fabulous location. Didn't try the restaurant: The town of Vlissingen offers a lot of good deals for that.

So a nice stay until check-out time. Booked rate was 70 EUR (total 144 EUR for two rooms) and billed rate was finally 90 EUR (total 184 EUR). We've showed a printout of our booking reference with price and the manager said us: "I don't care. This is a problem between you and Golden Tulip Central Reservation".

It's easy for them to say "Best Internet rate guarantee" if the hotel staff doesn't have to respect the booked price. No respect of customers. My final advice: don't stay there.

Have contacted Golden Tulip Headquarter: no answer, no explanation, no apology, nothing…

This is a verry nice and clean hotel. Frieldly staff and the speak english 80% at the front desk which is nice if you don't speak dutch. Restaurant is OK I prefered PIET HEINZ on the other side of the dunes on the beach. Great food and the wait staff does speak english for the most part. Any restaurant in town that has a english speaking waiter/waitress will always help you with the menu. Oh back to the hotel I am here in July and the rooms do not have A/C which is unpleasant in the day but it get's cool at night and it is ok with the door open. ENjoy the town of Vlissingen it is verry nice do the shopps on Mallwalk I think they call it. There is a good Greek restaurant ion the strip called CRETE i think but it is on a corner half way down the walk.

We were there during the rainy season, and the hotel was absolutely lovely. Fantastic restaurant, great buffet breakfast, and very new and modern rooms. Though it rained non-stop, we had a very romantic stay, and the place to ourselves.
