My Friend and I stayed on a bus trip to see the Bulbfields, from Glasgow. The hotel was nice and clean, the bedroom was acceptable. Before we left the UK, we read the reviews and asked for a kettle at reception, this was no problem, given to us for the two night`s stay. We brought our own tea/coffee, didn`t eat the biscuits, so we only used the kettle for 4 cups of tea/coffee.
When we left to come home, we were rudely asked for 4euros for the loan of the tray, we explained that we were not told about this charge, when the tray was handed over. The cleaner then said yes, she had told us and we didn`t have any change to pay her, first we ever heard about it. The manageress stepped in, and argued her point that we had kept the tray away from other people. It was never the money side of it, but it would have been nice to be informed when we received it.
There was also a lot of smoke in the bar, and you had to walk through the bar to get to the Dining room. There was also people eating in there, which is against the Law in Belgium.
The waiting staff were all very nice, but the Manageress had alot to be desired. The bedrooms were not touched after the first day. Still full bins. Very disapointed. Would not return there. It is also looking onto a housing estate, nothing much to do there. No entertainment.
