The Hotel is a short walk from the Train station. Check in was very easy and the Hotel staff was very freindly and helpful. The room was a bit larger than I thought, but the bath was relatively small. The sleep was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of selection. Breakfast and WIFI is included with the price of the room. The Hotel is a few blocks away from the town square, however it is a short walk. Bike rental across the canal next to the train station.

Excellent location ( 5 minute walk from the rlwy stn, you can see the hotel when your train enters the station). Rooms are just right in size, with large windows. There did not appear to be an aircon so heating was fixed - and could not cope up.

The bath is clean but pretty small so not advisable for people with generous proportions.

The reception was helpful, service is pleasant. But at 90 euros a day in a small town, it is overpriced. All rooms have skytv

so a lot of channels to choose from. Sadly there was no tea coffee maker in the room (actually it was not there in any of the
hotels in Italy and Netherlands I stayed in)

The market is a short walk away and a great place to pick up food - especially along the pedestrian path. The square near the
church has farmers coming daily to sell fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers.

Wifi in the room was not so strong, but there is a computer with free internet down below.

There are cheaper options near the market square, but (unbelievably) you cannot check in after 7 pm as there is no one at the reception of these hotels at night!

I stayed here for four nights, and the room was fine, the staff very friendly, breakfast room pleasant with a nice terrace, free internet. It's right in front of you when you come out of the railway station, and only a few minutes walk to the main square. I had a room at the back, which was nice and quiet. Rooms at the front may be noisier, because they are on the road, and it's by a swing bridge which sounds an alarm when it opens.

The most important thing to say is that this hotel is infinitely better than the Hotel du Commerce next door. Under no circumstances stay there - I had a terrible experience!

My wife and I just returned from a trip that included six nights at the Hotel de Nieuwe Doelen. It is a small city hotel without all the amenities of larger hotels that we stayed at in Amsterdam and London, but we were more than satisfied with our stay. Ellen and other staff members were friendly, efficient, and accommodating; and both our room and the public areas of the hotel were clean and pleasant. The inclusive breakfast was quite good, and the free use of a computer in the bar/lobby was an added bonus. It's location across from the train station was perfect for us. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
