Well appointed bedroom with clean modern bathroom. The lighting was really poor - I understand these ceiling spot lights are in all rooms. - Unable to read, even with all lights on. Comfortable bed. WIFI and breakfast very expensive. I would return, but will bring a torch!

So So experience. Good thing about the hotel was the location, very close to Utrecht Station. And the worst thing about the hotel was lack of lighting. It was as if I was in movie hall with all the lights dimmed. So business travellers like me who need to work, it a pretty bad on the eyes, as you can imagine !!
Rooms were also quite small. Would recommend a better hotel for business travellers.

Lovely hotel with very helpful reception staff. Rooms were spacious & modern but lighting was rather gloomy despite the large expanse of window. Nice view from rooms at the front of the hotel but some outside noise from late night revelers.
Car park is difficult to find as it is situated in a back street behind the hotel. Do not leave your car unattended in the public car park across the road at the front for even a minute. We were landed with a Euro55 fine for leaving our hire car for 5 minutes to enquire where the hotel car park was!

After abandoning a horrid hotel in Amsterdam (Sphinx Hotel) we made our way down to Utrecht where my daughter had a friend who studies there. Utrecht is like a little Amsterdam, nice university town. We had no reservations and asked a local cafe for recommendations. The hotel was next to a church which we looked out on. The room was a good size for three with a single bed on one side and the double bed on the oppositie side. Everything was clean and nice. The staff, especially the young lady at the front desk were extremely helpful. I would recommend Utrecht and the NH hotel to anyone planning a trip to Amsterdam.
