A most disappointed experience. An outrageously expensive somewhat well-worn 4 star hotel. I've stayed in better hotels with more facilities and friendlier staff. Wi-fi is not free in the room though can be accessed free in 30 minute sessions in the lobby. And in keeping with tue spirit of this establishment breakfast was not included either. This hotel is the epitomy of Dutch 'zuinigheid' (stinginess). On the plus side it is very close to the central station.

NH normally provide modern well appointed hotels, this feels small and cramped especially the rooms. Noisey aircon (which worked) obtrusive unstocked mini-bar and multiple changes in floor level make for an interesting and unmemorable stay. Breakfast was poor and pricey however the Luden restaurant is excellent. Sound proofing is poor and the nearby church starts chiming from 0600!

Location is ideal, beware the cyclists who pass very close the the front door. No gym but there are very pleasant running opportunities along side the canals.

A second more modern Nh is just across twn, my advice stay there as did half my colleagues. Utrecht is not that busy and the walk between the two is very pleasant.

the NH chain rooms are functional rather than fantastic so don't expect too much - but they are usually clean and this one is no exeption. - the best part of staying here is if you want to walk to all the local city centre bars and restaurants - mind you don't get mown down by a cyclist - which is common to all Dutch cities!

excellent location. helpful and friendly staff. convenient rooms. good breakfast. very good value for money.
