I was in Utrecht for business and stayed in this hotel for a week. The location is beautiful and perfect for a long morning or evening walks.

Check in: Fast and smooth. All the details were pre filled. I just had to sign on the form.

Room: Room was big (if you compare with other hotels in NL) and was nicely done up. Bathroom was also big and very clean

Breakfast: Since i was on business trip lunches and dinners were always in city. Thus limiting my review to breakfast. The breakfast was very good and spread was nice.

Overall: A nice and welcoming stay. Will recommend it for business travellers over other hotels

Our group chose this hotel because on the weekend of our travel there was basically no other hotel available (4 star) in Utrecht!!! Our visit to Utrecht was for pleasure, long weekend. The hotel was very clean, rooms bright, airy - typical of hotels I have stayed in for a business trip in the Netherlands. The hotel is a bit out of the town center - around 25 to 30 minute walk. The staff were friendly but you cannot get a drink from the bar after 1am!!! (Even though 2 people were sitting in the reception). We only ate in the hotel once but the quality was good. Beware when calling a taxi - they seem to call a large van that cannot fit under the bridge so the cab needs to use the motorway to get to town - what should be a 10 euro cab ride turns into 25 euro. The hotel should know this (we told them) - we felt ripped off. This in addition to an average of 125 euro per night room rate (again I think this is a business rate) was pretty steep. So....... use it for business, not for a weekend pleasure trip. ps. great beds !!

Room 427 had some horrible spider webs on the balcony (and countless spiders) which was quite disgusting. They should definitely clean these more often.
The other things is food in the restaurant which I would call inconsistent. Dover sole was delicious but then chicken shoarma is pretty awful.
Apart those glitches very nice seting and a pleasant place to stay.

This hotel is first class all the way! The rooms are clean, updated and bright; paying for the lake view if worth every penny. My husband and I enjoyed watching the sheep in the field across the lake! The hotel staff is multi-lingual and helpful in every way. The food in the restaurant was wonderful and the staff attentive, but not over-bearing. If the weather agrees, eating outside just adds to the uniqueness of the dining expereince. There's also a path around the lake which is great for an after dinner walk (15 minutes tops). The hotel is a little outside the downtown area, about a 13 euro cab ride or 20-25 minutes walk, but the hotel has bikes you can use to make the trip easier. Utrecht is a beautiful city, a lot like Amsterdam, but smaller and a little more relaxed. We will definetly be back!
