The hotel is a clean modern hotel,rooms are daily cleaned.i stayed there for 5 nights on a business trip and it was a pleasant stay.Breakfast is ok.There is a wireless internet connection at the reception.
The staff were extremely helpful, specialy brenda,thanks.The hotel is sitiuated in a quite street , 2 minutes walk from the center of amersfoort where the shopping area, resturants, pubs,and malls are.So everything you need is just there.I would highly recommend this hotel.

I visited in Nov 06 and had a pleasant experience,
Stayed in a single room with seperate shower, very economical.
Staff very courteous and un obtrusive. Room was more than enough with plenty of space and complimentary tv.
Great location only minutes from the centre of town, would highly reccomend it as a true experience of Dutch culture without the toutist traps.

Visited this bed and brekfast over the easter holiday. its about a 15min walk from the central station, which was easy but might recommend taking a taxi with your luggage on arrival as market days friday and saturday are busy. Was early on arrival but no problem dropping off luggage at hotel. Found hosts very friendly and spoke very good english, so could advise us on our stay in Amersfoort. Room was impeccably clean and finished to a high standard, for $89 euros a night good value! Beds were comfortably and room was quiet. The breakfast room was light, airy and clean. Breakfast was tea, coffee, orange juice, assorted meats and breads, which were very fresh and tasty.
We particularly wanted to stay in amersfoort to visit the monkey sanctuary in apeldoorm and this is reached from this hotel with a 15 min walk to station then a 30 min train journey to amersfoort and finished off with a 10 min bus ride which was very easy as the dutch seem to know how to run public transport!
Overall a very pleasing stay in a delightful hotel in a lovely old part of the city.

I've visited Amersfoort twice so far, on business. The first time, I stayed at a hotel recommended by my host. Don't recall the name, but it was average. It has a large Buddha in front.

The second time, I did my own research and discovered Logies de Tabaksplant. Bingo! I took a "luxury" room with whirlpool bath, which cost 100 Euros so -- ok -- not exactly cheap, and I can't vouch for the lesser rooms, but it was very nice and modernized. Not big, by US standards, but nice. And the staff is great. It's a small hotel (24 rooms) run by a friendly husband and wife who live there so, for example, you may get to meet their dog. I'm just saying it's got personality. I liked that.

Plus, the hotel has a history: It was originally the home of a tobacco merchant who lived downstairs and stored his inventory upstairs -- hence, the hotel's name.

They've installed some free high-speed internet connections downstairs where breakfast is served and are working on adding wireless access. BTW, the breakfasts are good.

The location is just outside one of the old city gates, so access to the "old" (i.e., downtown) city is easy.

If you know a better place to stay in Amersfoort, speak up. Meanwhile, I'm returning next month and you know where I'm staying.
