I was so completely blown away with Hofje van Maas! I stumbled upon this adorable little hotel when I was looking for a beach escape from my trip to Amsterdam. Zanvoort-an-Zee is easily accessible by train from Central station in Amsterdam (I forget how much it cost, but only a few dollars) and once in Zanvoort we walked about 10 minutes to this inn. Once I saw my suite (apartment really- so much more than a hotel room!), what had been a somewhat disappointing trip started to look up. The place was so unexpectedly cute, even chic, with sunlight flowing in, a spacious, open floor plan, and a roomy terrace. It was perfect! We were five minutes from downtown (bars, restaurants, shops) and five minutes from the best beach in the area.
A really cute Dutch couple owns the place and runs it themselves. They are so warm, welcoming, and accomodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. My sister and I were very sad to leave here and ended up extending our stay for an extra night.
If I ever find myself in Holland again, I will seek this place out. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
