We have stayed at this hotel when it was Golden Tulip. Because of the location (very close to the beach) and our previous experiences we chose it for our weekend break. Upon arrival something appeared to be wrong with our booking. Staff didn't say as much, but (after waiting quite a while) we got a suite instead of the booked room. We were happy......until we entered the 'suite'. It was very, very dated. The furniture needs to be replaces and the decor is not very 'now'. The only upside was that the room was very large and would have slept 4 people.
Breakfast is not very well organised. There is a very large breakfast room, but not enough staff to deal with everything. Lots of tables weren't cleaned quickly so people had to sit at tables with all the rubbish still on them. There is only 1 coffemachine which is more empty than full. That said, the buffet is well stocked and they have a wide range of products to choose from.
On the first morning our shower didn't appear to work. We spoke to reception about it and they did offer us another room. This was a renovated room which was very nicely decorated and clean.
Al in all, we were a disappointed about the hotel. Although the staff did try their best we certainly expected something more from NH Hotels. As it stands we would not go back.
