The hotel is very convenient, right outside the train station. It is a beautiful building that ties in with the rest of the buildings around that area. There is allot of building work in Zaandam at the moment, but we found this did not really bother us as we didn't really spend that much time here.
We spent new years in Zaandam because the public transport in to Amsterdam stops at around 8pm on NYE and does not re-open untli 6am the following Zaandam would have cost us 60euro.
Otherwise, public transport from Zaandam into Amsterdam Cental was every 10mins (train) and night trains run throughout the night normally (when it's not NYE) so it was still very convenient to spend the evening in Amsterdam and go back whenever suited us.
It was 2 stops into amsterdam central from Zaandam, and Schipol airport was about 20mins train from Zaandam. All very convenient.

The hotel itself was lovely, modern and very clean.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with information etc.
The only problem we had was that the shower was basically broken. It would spurt out boiling hot then freezing cold water at different intervals making it impossible to have a shower. But this was a problem for every guest at the hotel, and we were assured they were looking into it. It was Ok, because we were able to have baths instead. Just a little inconvenient.

Zaandam itself is small, and cheaper than Amsterdam. We had lovely food in a place called 'Wonders' and everyone there were very helpful becuase all the menues were in Dutch!
Overall, it's a lovely place to spend the day relaxing, although small and in the middle of some pretty massive changes. Give it a few years and it will be a fab place to come away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam.

Overall, a lovely stay. I would highly recommend the hotel, Zaandam, and Amsterdam for a stay, although I would consider staying in Amsterdam itself if I was to visit again over NYE - purely because of the lack of public transport.

lovely hotel , very nice building cannot miss it when on the train you can spot it straight away! so easy to get to from the airport and was so cheap about 10 euros, in the uk its about £50 to get a train to the airport so it is very cheap! luxury rooms most comfortable bed ive ever slept in and sooo big! very spacious rooms very clean very nice bathroom! it is so easy to get from the hotel into amsterdam central and again quite cheap for a return ticket takes about 10 mins on the train and is nice to stay just outside of the city. we got a very good deal for this hotel offers on different types of rooms well worth the money and would definately recommend this hotel and would definately go back! only bad this you have to pay 50 euro up front for a mini bar in your room, that it didnt say anything about having to pay this upfront so be prepared to be 50euros down before you start your holiday! you do get it back if you do not use the mini bar or they take whatever you have had from the mini bar and you will get the change but a bit annoying as soon as you walk in the door to check in! but all in all had a very good stat and loved the moderness of the hotel very posh!

I really liked this hotel. The location is quite easy to get to as is the hotel. You get off the train in Zandaam and its right in front of you, cant miss the building. We found Zandaam itself to be quite nice with good eating options shopping down the street. We found getting to and from Amsterdam very easy.

We did not eat at the hotel as we found them to be pricey and there were good options close by.

I would probably stay here again at the right price.

If you need to be in Zaandam, don't stay anywhere else (not that there's much choice). This quirky, designer hotel, is next to the station and newly refurbished city centre. Friendly staff & great facilities. You could stay here as an alternative to Amsterdam when it gets too busy as it's only a short train ride away.
