My husband and I made last minute reservations to fly to Amsterdam and was referred to Nessie's B&b located outside of the noisy city center. We had no problem getting around because the local tram was a short 5 minute walk from our B&B. The transportation in Amsterdam is excellent and one never has to wait a long time to get anywhere. Our room was very clean and had a beautiful balcony that over looked a nice garden even in November. It was more beautiful when the fog arrived which I loved. The chilly mornings was warmly offset by Nessie's big breakfast served each morning in our room. Breakfast was warm fresh bread, sliced meats, cheese, perfectly boiled egg, yogurt, jam and coffee. Nessie was helpful with all sorts of recommendations and helped us navigate a new foreign country giving helpful information with maps and was knowledgeable on day trips outside of Amsterdam. The neighborhood had restaurants, bakeries, clothing, wine shops, newspaper stands with our favorite walking distant restaurant "The Hut" serving delicious Dutch food with full bar. Nessie was a wonderful hostess who made us feel at home. We had a good stay at the Garden View and would recommend her place because of the good value, clean rooms and easy transportation available. She also surprised me with a few dutch sweet treats placed in my room. A memorable stay we will never forget :-)
