We booked this Hostel because it was really cheap and we did not want to spend our entire budget on hotel. blah blah

So the room was really small which was not so bad. it had a shower and hand basin but no toilet.
The toilet is shared between each level and its so small your knees hit the door when your sitting down.
There was a sliding door that led out to a court yard out the back but you were not aloud to smoke out there (cigarettes.. No really just Cigarettes)
so you had to go and stand in the street out the front to have a cig.
It did have free wifi but it was really slow
the breakfast was ok

One night when we returned back to flipper the doorman took forever to answer when the door finally was opened a man came running out of the front followed by a woman who upon seeing us at the front door pretended to look at brochures and casually left .
then the Hotel manager came out from the back room looking shocked saying he had just been robbed!!

he did not appear injured so we asked for our key and left him there to call The police

Its quite Far from Dam Sqaure I would stay somewhere else next time I return to Amsterdam

Great hotel at decent prices and nicely placed just outside the city with easy access to the tram (3min walk away to station). Breakfast was included which included, coffee, cereal, coffee juice etc. The hotel itself was neat and tidy. The rooms were small but you did not need a large room for this trip it was big and comfortable enough to sleep in! En suite was really nice too. Staff were also extremely helpful and kind. Strict regulations on smoking only smoking outside the main building.

After reading the reviews of this hotel I expected the worst, however when we saw our room we were pleasantly surprised as it's all we really needed in a hotel room....somewhere to sleep (although the beds were so narrow)! Granted, our room didn't have our own toilet but we had quite a good shower (albeit small).

However, the hotel in general didn't seem very safe and was a long way from the centre of the city. The surrounding area was not too bad with some nice restaurants and bars.

The worst thing about the hotel however is the price they charge! I knew there would be a 5% city tax but no where do they mention that they charge an extra 5% for credit or debit cards....never have I experienced this in my life!

On the whole, it wasn't as bad as I thought but there must be so many places in Amsterdam which offer better value for money so I would definitely look elsewhere!

I booked this hotel a couple of days ago. My first night was a nightmare as I wasn't able to sleep. The room is so small, hot and I was scratching until early hours of the morning. It looks like it has bed bugs. The path room is so small and the shower is less than the size of a middle person. At the end I gave up two days booking and I found another hotel.
Just to mention the breakfast is terrible and to find the hotel is another story. I never imagined there is such hotel in Europe. My advice is to stay away from it.
