Stayed for 1 night mid december. Double room more like an apartment. Bed very comfortable,bathroom modern and spotless. Staff friendly and informative. Great location all of which made visit very enjoyable. Highly recommended.Definately would stay again

We stayed at The Times over the weekend in January. Found the hotel clean & tidy even though the rooms are not large, they are very adequate for a visit to the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Beds very comfortable.
The Reception staff are VERY helpful and the breakfast was lovely.
Only fault is no Tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but we were advised this is being looked into. So be warned, if you like a cuppa, take a travel kettle!!

We picked this hotel as the pictures of the bedrooms looked good, and we could have a city view which we thought would be great being that it was New Year. Well the room we was given was filthy it had not been cleaned from the last guests, it was not big enough to swing a cat in, and the view of the city was a back yard, when we went back to reception to complain we were told that a city view did not mean 'city' view and probably this should be altered in their hotel details, really! I am sure guests would probably love looking at a yard from their bedroom window. The staff had the worse attitude I have every come across in a hotel. We walked out with disgust and found a wonderful hotel: Sint Nicolaas, Spuistraat 1a.
which was fantastic.

I have stayed at The Times Hotel a couple of times now, and have overall enjoyed my stay. The rooms have been clean and the breakfast has been adequate.
I think it is in a great, central location, and that you pay for that (it's not a cheap hotel, but good value due to location).
However, be aware that the lift does not get you to all rooms, and some are awkward to get to (steep, narrow stairs). There are no hairdryers in the rooms, BUT the staff on front-desk are very helpful and will lend you one (always handy to know before you get out fo the shower and have to take the long trek downstairs!).
I travelled there on business, and would go back as a tourist (if I could get a deal on the room)!
