“Warm welcome and fine tips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We e-mailed Charlotte and got clear information. The details were quickly arranged. Everything was ready on arrival and we got interesting tips : ferry to NDSM wharf (life music), have a meal on the top roof of het library with fantastic view on A'dam, flea market locations and dates...
The breakfast was good (with fresh orange juice) and delivered every morning. The neighbourhoud is quiet so your sleep is long and deep ;-)
Try this B&B out.

“From a Wheelchair User”

My wife and I stayed here from Oct 10—Oct 21, 2011. Great place.

I use a regular wheelchair to get around (paraplegic) and the hosts were very helpful in providing measurements before I made reservations. It pleases me to say that the downstairs room was spacious enough for me to get around and the bathroom worked well, too, in that it features a walk-in shower connected to the sink and toilet at the other end of the bathroom. No grab-bars or anything, but definitely do-able.

There are few stairs (one to get in the house) and two to go down into the main bedroom, but the hosts provided a door that served as a ramp to get to down the two stairs since we were visiting for so long, which was extremely helpful and convenient.

The bed was two twin beds pushed together to form a queen, which worked well. Plenty of storage for two huge suitcases and clothes. The main part of the room was easy to navigate in my chair.

The hosts, Charlotte and Paul, were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. They definitely made our trip a lot of fun and quite convenient.

All-in-all, if you're in a wheelchair, this place is definitely do-able, but it will take a little bit of patience and someone to help you up the front step (about 5-6" tall) and the "door-ramp" (if you're able to get that done for you) down the two stairs (makes for a tad of a steep ramp). All that said, it's more easily-accessible than most of the city's restaurants and shops, so at least you'll have an easy time "coming home" every night!

Room Tip: Stayed in the downstairs room. Big and it has a private patio garden. Fairly large bathroom, too.

“Amsterdam vacation”

My husband and I stayed at the B & B Jordaan Oct 13-16th. Charlotte was helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I selected this B & B because of the proximity to the Anne Frank House, museums, and train station. We were so happy with our decision. The room was large, beds were comfortable, breakfasts were delicious with coffee, meats, breads, jams, etc.! Charlotte helped us find our way around and offered many suggestions. The taxi service she arranged for us at the end of the trip was also very good, taxi driver arriving in a suit, and such a reasonable fare. Sunshine in room every day. Also, Charlotte carried my luggage upstairs, which helped me with my bad back. She offered so much advice before we arrived also. We loved the neighborhood and abundant bakeries, restaurants. We enjoyed our trip and all that Amsterdam had to offer, and we liked our Canal Cruise also. Thank you Charlotte for a wonderful and memorable Amsterdam experience.

Room Tip: Make reservation early. We were upstairs with a garden view. Very large room, plenty of space and...

“Very friendly and great hospitality in the most interesting neighbourhood”

We were three to share a room. The room was very nice and spatious. Hosts were extremely helpful and accomodating. Would certainly use it again. The Jordaan neighbourhood is very interesting with cafees and boutiques, some good restaurants off the tourist track.

“lovely introduction to Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

this was our first trip to Amsterdam and we were given a wonderfully positive first impression by Charlotte's welcome and her B&B. It is centrally located, a very pleasant walk to many sights, restaurants, public squares, etc. Our room was clean and bright with lots of room for the very comfortable bed and the breakfast table. There is an ipod player but no tv or internet access. Coffee making facilities in the room were welcome as were Charlotte's generous breakfasts, delivered just outside the room at the specified time. Charlotte herself is a wealth of information and tips, she wants her guests to enjoy Amsterdam as well as her B&B and it shows. Booking with Charlotte was very easy and she was very responsive to questions I had as the time for our arrival grew closer.
