This was the first time I stayed at this hotel and I was pleasend suprised ,because I did not know what to expect , the price was very goodfor Amsterdam.
The reception was pleasanrt and fast check in, only problem was that the minibar was locked when I wanted to use it , otherwise no problem.

I spent the weekend of my birthday with my husband in Amsterdam, and we stayed at this hotel. The location is perfect; walking distance to most of the sights and the main pedestrian/shopping streets, with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Also well communicated by tram to the train station and the museums etc. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. We got a voucher for a drink at the hotel bar because of my birthday, which was a nice touch :)
The room we got it was clearly a single room with a double bed (only one set of towels, one hanger for the towel, one pair of slippers..) but it was spacious enough. We asked to change rooms because the windows didn't close properly so it was very cold every time we arrived to the room, and very noisy at night. We got a room (again a single with double bed) facing the inner court, and it was perfect!
Breakfast was also very good.
The only "complaints" would be the beds, which we found way too soft, and that there is no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby.. but then again, not a big deal.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Big hotel located perfectly. Walking distance everywhere (almost). Convenient rooms with a really strange attraction. The loo and tube have a glass wall and glass doors, so you can view and hear what you partner do. And one more thing. The only bird in Amsterdam wakes you up at 6 pm in January!!!!

I went to dam on new years day for 4 nights. Considering I was paying £150 for the 1st night & £97 for the other 3 i expected a lot more for my money. The location was fab. The room itself was clean - ish. The huge stains on the carpet floor were abit alarming. The mini bar was locked. Every soap dispenser or rail fell off with the slightest touch. Considering the room was main road facing it was actually quiet. Room Service was quick & very good. Considering all the money spent on room the breakfast was not included & would have been an extra! There was not enough information about the hotel facilities. The hotel is very modern with basic needs met. I feel that I should have got more for my money considering my friends were staying in a b&b for £50per nite which included a full english breakfast with the same amenities. I was disappointed as last year we had stayed at 3* rembrandt classic and as we upgraded this year I expected more.
