We stayed in the Garden House, a small cottage at the end of the garden. It was beautiful! A large room with a small bathroom and full kitchen. We had a private patio and the weather was warm enough in October and November to sit outside for breakfast. Which, btw, was delicious. Fresh, still warm croissants and rolls were delivered by 8 each morning. The location of Hanna Penso is perfect, close to everything you want to see. Can't wait to return for another visit.

We stayed in the Garden room which is on the bottom floor of the main house with french doors leading onto the garden. The room was extremely comfortable - quite large with a desk and chairs where you can sit
It is about a 5min walk from the subway and very central. All the major sights are within walking distance from the accommodation - it may not look like it on a map but we very easily walked to the red light district and back one evening. The heineken experience and van gogh museums are also an easy walk. We bought a one day metro ticket which was a total waste as we didn't use it.
There are lots of lovely restaurants close to the accommodation and there are a list of recommendations in the room.
Beatrijs is a wonderful hostess - she is willing to help where ever possible and is prompt with all her communication.

We want to share with you that we enjoyed our stay at Hanna Penso in Amstersdam, Beatrijs is a wonderful hostess, it has a very good location, and the breakfast with the croissants is something we wait for them each morning. Whenever we will have a chance to visit again Amsterdam we will choose again to stay at Hanna Penso.

When searching for the best place to stay in Amsterdam we used the following criteria: location, price, safety, and cleanliness. The Hanna Penso was the name that came up and it did not disappoint in any way. We stayed in the Garden Room which had its own little kitchen and well stocked refrigerator. An assortment of fresh baked breads arrived every morning. The bed was roomy and comfortable; and, the garden view, even in November, was lovely. This was one of the best places we have stayed in all of our travels. The location was fabulous; take the #9 tram from Central Station. We definitely recommend the Hanna Penso!
